Only if you mean to dilute the salinity and then that can only be localised with short term results. The thermohaline can be interrupted with radical inputs of fresh water but to have a serious effect on shutting down the thermohaline in the Atlantic, for instance, you'd need to empty the Great Lakes into them all at once.

I'm going to say BC coastal weather has become one of the colder of all the provinces over the last 3 years . Nice all round average but no nice days , no wide temperature ranges and colder winters .

I can't comment on the coastal region of BC but the last three summers I lived in the Okanagan were some of the hottest on record. Almost every day of the summer was over 30 degrees.

I don't know about you but I hate that much heat. I'm happy in PG where it hovers around 20 celcius.
