SigPig SigPig: hurley_108 hurley_108: Yes, they would have been well within their rights to ask her to move to the deck, 1.8m from the water. However, just because she didn't do this on her own, before she was approached and informed of policy (not regulation), doesn't mean she has no right to complain about being asked to move farther than she had to. Isn't policy just a set of regualtions? I don't care what its called, she was out of bounds. Period. A company can set a policy, but a company policy cannot restrict your rights under the law.

No, she apparently wasn't, but she would have been in any number of places on deck, not within the limited options given her.

Again I agree, but that is not what she is arguing. She is claiming that it is her right to breastfeed anywhere she wants but as we ahve both said that is not the case. As she is presenting her case, she has no legs to stand on.

'No food or drink beyond this point'. 'Private facility'. 'I have comfortable chairs in either the change room or the viewing gallery'. 'Rather than leave the warm water...' It seems that no matter what you do for some people... Just another case of someone coming here from another country and deciding that 'they will tell us' what the rules will be!

Dammit, I thought this was a thread about shared breastfeeding, like car pooling.

Kind of strange that a woman would want to feed her baby in a pool of chlorine and urine.

Enough said. Sorry, no. So you don't mind if I come over to your place and hang out when you're not there?

hurley_108 hurley_108: If you're that concerned about chlorine and urine, DON'T GO TO THE POOL! This isn't about swimming it's about feeding your baby in that. It just seems strange to me. I think this woman is trying to make a point, especially if they only asked her to leave the water and not the general area. I could also eat my lunch in the bathroom but would I? Not likely.

That’s what I thought first off. Pools are bacterial breeding grounds not to mention the fungal crap that lurks around.
