Brenda Brenda: Dragon-Dancer Dragon-Dancer: There is no point to contact in hockey, ban it altogether. The game is far more entertaining when it's a game of speed and skill as opposed to a game based around huge walls of flesh who exist only to injure the opposing team. Leave that for football where it belongs. But then, I am not a hockey fan. By your comments, that is an understatement to say the least. Dragon Dancer is clearly on fucking drugs

20 years of Rugby (no equipment), 37 years of hockey and still going, Lacross and boxing, would not change a thing, loved every minute. No protective equipment makes it a sport? DD is not the only one on drugs here. I guess we should keep kids off the ice, put them out on the street corner instead!!

2Cdo 2Cdo: Brenda Brenda: I'm sorry, but when a so called "sport" needs full protective gear, the fun is gone as far as I am concerned. ESPECIALLY for kids. Like you said, you're not a fan. I played hockey, football and boxed as a kid. ALL require protective gear, and all were extremely fun. But but but!! Pro-boxers do NOT wear gear, which means the kids are protected more than the pro's. In hockey and football, not so much. There are NO extra protections for kids. And that is kinda my thing about it...

Actually the kids wear neck guards, cages and have to wear ear guards. they also have stop signs on the back of their sweaters to discourage the hitting from behind cheap shots. But I guess you knew all that

Not at all but shooting your mouth off in a subject you admit to knowing nothing about is comical, particularly making statements rather than opinions "THERE ARE NO EXTRA PROTECTION FOR KIDS" when you really have no idea

So maybe you are shooting your mouth off right now.

Exactly, you did, but as we've grown accustomed to you continue to run your lips in an area you have clearly demonstrated to have ZERO knowledge of.

Not being a fan is equal to having ZERO knowledge? There's a reason why my kids are not playing hockey and it is NOT because I am not a fan. But hey, PLEASE take something said negatively (it wasn't even negative but I am pretty sure you take it that way) about your so beloved sport personally.

Not taking anything personal, but yes it is a beloved sport, so stick to Euro soccer if it is not your thing. Your "statements" on the game are what I take issue with due to the fact you are clearly talking out of your ass as I indicated with your comment above with no grounds to support your statement, to which you have not acknowledged.

If parents want their kids in a league with limited to no contact, then they should create a league where those are the rules. I doubt you'd see too any of those kids make it to the major leagues. Hockey is a physical game and what some want to turn it into nowadays , already exists...it's called ringette.

Ah. I am European, so I should like soccer. You really don't like immigrants, regardless of where they are from, do you.

Accusations of being anti immigrant in a minor hockey thread?? Typical Brenda grasping for straws when she has been called out on baseless comments in an area of zero knowledge, so very predictable. Junk

So why don't they play hockey? Are they busy doing something else that prevents them from trying it?
