ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
A test run for Sochi??

If it is I think they'll be unpleasantly surprised with the response the Russians will have waiting for them.

All the Russians are looking for is another excuse to go into Chechnya and finish what they started 99 and clowns like this will give it to them.

Interesting though. One would think the Chechens would continue their focus on Russia.

Like I say, the Taliban have a lot of Chechens with them. Many vets from combat against the Russians. The Jihad is big in Chechneya. Has been for years.

When the Chechens attacked the theater in Moscow Putin didn't hesitate to respond with lethal force, tragically hostages were killed but that's possibly the only way to deal with these Terrorists.

Actualy it was a new type of knock out gas used. The hostages that died was cuased by asphyxiation. Tragicly it ended up being lethal when they, the russians, were trying to save lives and not have any hostages killed. The reactions from the police when they realised that the hostages were dieing was heart renching. The started grabing the unconsious hostages and were laying them out on the side walk hoping to revive them with fresh air and mouth to mouth. The officers were crying while running in and out with ppl in their arms.

WTF?! Just last night I said, sleep on it and see what's happening in the morning. Sure as hell wasn't expecting this.

Chechens? Really? I don't think anyone expected the bombers to be Chechens.

I don't think it is related.

I don't think there is some Russian/Chechen terrorist cell jumping out of the wood work now.
I think this is a brother bringing his younger brother inside his depressed head and just went crazy. Like the Colorado shooter, or the Newtown shooter.

Agree, but only somewhat. There's a growing, radical pan-Muslim movement in Chechnya and surrounding areas. By all reports so far, the two were very devout Muslims and devotees of videos of radical clerics online.

But it's still early of course. Time will tell what their real motivations were.

I'm actually thinking it may be more like a psycho pair like the two from columbine.

Yeah, or something like that.
I just don't think this was an organized thing at all. If it were, they would have no need to rob a convenience store for money and shoot an officer. They would have been gone Monday.

It looks too stupid and chaotic to be organized.

And now police have found a man in his 60s wearing a vest connected to a dead-man switch.

Brenda Brenda:

There's at least some organization going on here. The pressure cooker thing is indicative of these mutts being trained by someone because the pressure cooker thing is a known signature of muslim terrorists.

As far as their appearance of incompetence they really just come off as typical insulated muslims (as their social media posts indicate, too).

I don't mean any offence when I say this, but their actions are in line with the philosophy that permeates an awful lot of the militant groups and that is insh'allah or, as allah wills it. Essentially their actions are in line with their faith and they believe that the success or failure of their efforts hinges on the will of their god. Therefore they don't try to excel or perfect their own skills because that would be prideful and would be counter to their individual faith.

At the same time, other individuals within their same groups will become skillfull at certain disciplines and that somehow doesn't contradict the beliefs of the other people involved. I really don't know how that works.

In any case, I'm just saying not to dismiss these guys as amateurs or etc. as what they've done is nothing that hasn't been done before.

Interview going on with an Uncle of the bombers seems from what he says it is not religon based or political. Just a couple guys who could not fit in. Kind of confussing but seems he is saying they had not had contact with the bombers for like 4 years, the family is not militant in any way and is asking the youngest bomber to turn his self in.
