$1:
However, the immigration rules direct that a person seeking such leave is to be refused if they do not meet the requirements set out in the immigration rules.

While I agree with the need to have laws, common sense should prevail here. I wonder in the politically correct world that is Britan today, if she would have been so unceremoniously punted had she been married to one of the 1.5 million muslim residents?

It's unfortunate but..she should have applied correctly. I've had my own wrangles with home office in regards to my visa and I do feel sympathy towards this woman...but...she should have followed the rules.

I totally agree with you...

It is not easy, but one cannot expect to be an exception to the rules...

An idiotic decision in the first place. The Brit soldier is going to Iraq. The two kids are Brits so they can stay. The mother must go?

The mother f.... who made this initial decision should go. Fire the f..ker.

Thanks for the apology, but it isn't you guys at the pointy end of the stick enforcing the idiotic rules. As we all well know it's some pencil pushing bureaucrat who unfortunately has been given one small iota of power, in his otherwise pathetic life, who isn't willing to help because "rules are rules".

Freakinoldguy, what's next? We might as well abolish all laws and let people be relativists and look into problems with their guts instead of their head.

Person doesn't do his/her immigration stuff correctly? The law says you return him/her to his/her country regardless of other things. Justice is blind.

If you disagree with the concept of law and order prevailing, perhaps you should rethink your political views...

I don't disagree with law and order prevailing, but I do take issue with common sense being subverted by stupidity.

Agreed she didn't do her paperwork properly, but why, when her husband is deploying and her children are British Citizens should she be deported poste haste. IMHO she should be granted a stay until her husband returns and they can get the proper documentation.

I'm pretty sure that if she wasn't white and married to a soldier she'd be granted endless appeals and be allowed to remain in Britan for an eternity. I somehow can't help but get the feeling that this is an example case, by the British Immigration department to show that they throw illegal whites out of the country to. So when it comes to someone of another colour they'll be able to say look, we've thrown out whites to, so goodby.

Either way it still seems pretty petty of them.
