Nobody can prove one way or another that legalizing pot will have a net benefit effect until we try it. All indications are that it would make things better. Don't see how it can get any worse.

Yep, pot heads could save a lot of money of they grew their own. What does that have to do with legalization or not? Maybe like you say they're too lazy, or as PA points out they don't want to get busted for it or as I point out there's no point if you're only smoking the occasional joint. I grew up in Scarborough, now part of Toronto.

Surrounded by gangs, guns and dealers. I've seen gangs jump from one money making source to another...from selling drugs to intimidating local businesses to copy debit cards from unsuspecting customers. I've seen these people take construction paper, soak it with fertilizer and sell it as acid back in the 90's. In the last 10 years, I've seen these people get into the porn businesses running these various "tube" sites.

The mob and gangs evolve as time goes on and various money streams dry up. While marijuana is a large income source currently for some of the gangs, it's by no means their only source of income nor will it be the end of these groups it it becomes legalized.
