Scape Scape: I didn't get an answer as to why they should never have been granted citizenship. I would still like to know why. I know their views are repugnant but as far as I know, views are not criminal. Because their views approve and encourage shit like this...

Bodah Bodah: I dont give a flying fuck about this family or their grenade chucking kid, infact I hate them. Label them as an enemy of the state and kick them the fuck out. Yet another "genius" who prefers profanity over intelligence............

ridenrain ridenrain: He did the safest thing, which is fitting for a peace time officer who got fed a steady diet of "peacekeeping" bullshit. He did nothing and some 80,000 dies. If he did something, he and all his force may have been wiped out, but maybe some of the 80,000 might have been saved. Did he go there as an observer, or as a soldier? Dallaire's actions are credited with saving some 20,000 Tutsis. That's after he was told to "just worry about getting foreign nationals out." This is a good read, though I doubt you'd be interested.

Scape Scape: Son of al QaedaCitizen of convenience? So what?$1: There is no legal basis for stripping someone of citizenship because of his or her views. Citizenship is a fundamental right. It is not something that can be capriciously denied on the basis of one person deciding another person's views are unacceptable. I didn't get an answer as to why they should never have been granted citizenship. I would still like to know why. I know their views are repugnant but as far as I know, views are not criminal. Views are not criminal. Treason is. trea·son Audio Help (trē'zən) Pronunciation Key n. 1. Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. They have admitted to supporting Al Qaeda, an enemy of this country. Treason is a crime. They should be arrested and executed for such act. If they babbled on and on about their hatred of Canada and their love of the enemy, fine, but once half of your family joins the enemy, and you provide material support, you should be shot in the fucking face. Edit: Don't get me wrong, the one "black sheep" of the family who didn't join AQ should be spared, as well as the daughters if they provided no support, at least knowingly, but the rest should be arrested and tried for treason.
Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign.
This would apply as well to the likes of Mulroney, right through to Harper.....

The bottom line is that he has no real footing to make, then waffle abut these politically charged comments. I think he's thinking he has more pull than he has and his inexperience in politics is showing up loud and clear.

But you weren't attacking his politics when you said "he did nothing and 80,000 people died". You were, frankly, full of shit. That is the comment that I was responding to.

Oh yeah? How so? Oh boy....... Beginning with Mulroney's treasonous remark that Canada has no need to make things when we can simply buy them, successive prime ministers have overtly and increasingly sold this country out from under the feet of the Canadian people, through deliberate distortion of the facts. If this ain't treason, you tell me what is.

The big question is how many would have been saved had he told the UN to pound sand and siezed those arms caches. Would the government of the day still call him a hero or would he be just another discraced Canadian troop who killed some poor black nationals. There's no answer to these questions but pretending that he's wize because of his past mission is foolish. You might as well be celebrating the speeches of Ken Dryden because he's just as un-qualified.

Because that's what YOU would have done, you big stud you. Only thing worse than armchair quarterbacks are monday morning quarterbacks. Much less monday morning QBs with over a dozen years of hindsight. ridenrain ridenrain: There's no answer to these questions but pretending that he's wize because of his past mission is foolish. It certainly is. His "resume" doesn't begin and end with Rawanda.

Would strong dramatic action have won the day? Who can say because these things are 90% mind games and rest are logistics. Some shock and awe always grabs the initiative and thats the key to setting the tone for the fight. The fact that theh UN didn't even envision a fight is the problem however.
As for his resume: it's his to make, but hiding under the shadow of Rwanda is a gauranteed failure.
