Rrrreeeeally... You sign up as a reservist as a war is going on, and you have no clue that you could be deployed in the next 3 years? If he couldn't figure that out, I'd say the contract is the least of his worries.
Actually, as a reservist in Canada you must volunteer to deploy overseas. You cannot be deployed, unless you volunteer, so this is entirely his fault and not his providers.

Obviously he knew there was a VERY good chance of deployment, so what the hell was he doing signing a 3 year contract, and why is he whining now (I realize this has now been resolved, but at the time...).
I'm glad there will be provisions in place to defer contracts during deployment for our service men, but I hope Rogers realizes that they've now set a precedent. What about other occupations where you're in remote areas (with NO internet access, and quite often no phone access) for undetermined lengths of time? Are they going to make provisions for those guys too?
