DrCaleb DrCaleb:
My criticism is not of the Whitehouse, but those who take the 'fake media' to a task over a lazy reporter here or there, but let a chronic liar [Trump] slide by unchallenged.

I don't know if the right does always let Trump's mistruths slide. Unlike the left we also get the same news you do. So we at least hear both sides and are aware of what you're calling "lies." It's true we are more prone to write a lot of Trump's misspeaks off as exaggerations, misinterpretations and quotes of lies from the fake news. In fact, sometimes he's right and the accusers are wrong. Also, the hysterical fake news attacks from the fake news of the left does bring him some sympathy and willingness to excuse.

But if you really want to go down the "Whatabout" rabbit hole and discuss political deafness to for real chronic lies from a for real chronic liar we can discuss the Obama years. And let's not forget how the genius pool of you and yours almost voted in another Clinton.

The former editor of the New York Times is now calling out the New York Times as fake news.

Seems to me Trump was on to something now that it's been confirmed by someone who would know.

$1:
Former NY Times editor rips Trump coverage as biased

A former executive editor of the New York Times says the paper’s news pages, the home of its straight-news coverage, have become “unmistakably anti-Trump.”

Jill Abramson, the veteran journalist who led the newspaper from 2011 to 2014, says the Times has a financial incentive to bash the president and that the imbalance is helping to erode its credibility.

In a soon-to-be published book, “Merchants of Truth,” that casts a skeptical eye on the news business, Abramson defends the Times in some ways but offers some harsh words for her successor, Dean Baquet. And Abramson, who was the paper’s only female executive editor until her firing, invoked Steve Bannon’s slam that in the Trump era the mainstream media have become the “opposition party.”

“Though Baquet said publicly he didn’t want the Times to be the opposition party, his news pages were unmistakably anti-Trump,” Abramson writes, adding that she believes the same is true of the Washington Post. “Some headlines contained raw opinion, as did some of the stories that were labeled as news analysis.”

What’s more, she says, citing legendary 20th century publisher Adolph Ochs, “the more anti-Trump the Times was perceived to be, the more it was mistrusted for being biased. Ochs’s vow to cover the news without fear or favor sounded like an impossible promise in such a polarized environment.”

See! Right there!

Bias is not 'fake news'. The guy is calling out bias. It actually happened!

Bias becomes fake news when the bias is reported as unbiased news.

There isn't a reporter out there who will claim to be unbiased. But the ones with integrity still report on truth, to the best of their ability.

The very word 'fake' means it was made up. Calling it 'fake' when it actually happened is just a method to dismiss the event and not have to deal with reality.
