If the troops idolize Don Cherry, then they're not as bright as we're always told Canadian soldiers are.
I don't exactly idolize him. Despite his distain for the 'nucks, I respect the man. So thanks for calling me an idiot., though I suppose thats high praise coming from you.
It's funny how people twist words so they can huff their offense. If you don't "exactly" idolize him, then by my statement you're not "exactly" an idiot.
People are playing it up so big that he visited the troops. Is he the only Canadian civilian to do so?
The guy plays an idiot on TV. I don't respect him for that. If troops get a big thrill out of seeing a guy who plays and idiot on TV visit them in Astan, and respect him for it, well up to them. Again, is he the only one to do so, and haven't there been any non-idiot players come visit the troops you could respect instead?
What about this guy?

Bruce Cockburn got his rocket launcher - briefly, in Afghanistan.
The singer-songwriter was among a group of entertainers visiting Canadian troops serving in the war-torn country.
He drew wild applause when he sang one of his hits, "If I Had a Rocket Launcher," which prompted the commander of Task Force Kandahar, Gen. Jonathan Vance, to very temporarily present him with one.
"I was kind of hoping he would let me keep it. Can you see Canada Customs? I don't think so," Cockburn said, laughing.
After 30 albums and countless hits, Cockburn is known as much for his political activism around the world as he is for his music.
