The Avro Arrows we built all those years ago were still decades ahead of anything you Yanks could come up with. Canadian know-how could very well build another plane that's way ahead of it's time. You guys constantly underestimate us, and yet we always manage to surprise and wow.

Another sad legacy of the Arrow's cancellation was that a lot of Canadian aerospace engineers were head hunted by Boeing, Lockheed Martin and nasa. And apart from Bombardier, which needs constant help, the industry in Canada hasn't recovered.

My wife's grandfather went from A.V. Roe, then Orenda to NASA. He worked on Mercury, Gemini and Apollo.
