University of Toronto Associate Professor of Criminology Scot Wortley, an expert in crime statistics, says that, based on an estimated population of 2.93 million, Toronto has a current crime rate of 1.67 per 100,000 people.
New York City, which has an estimated population of 8.62 million, had seen 130 homicides at the same point, according to the NYPD’s CompStat crime data portal.
Wortley says this would put New York’s homicide rate at 1.51 per 100,000 people.

How does this relate to Canada?
Gangs like the Trinitarios could now be coming to Canada.
As according to the Toronto Sun, “The federal government has warned Canadian police services “violent” gangs known for cutting off the heads of victims are attempting to sneak across U.S.-Canada border points to avoid President Donald Trump’s changing immigration policy.”
After reading about the possibility of increased gang presence in Canada, seeing the disturbing video of the attack (available by clicking here), and the increased Toronto crime rate, I simply could not sit around.
We cannot allow Toronto to descend into a city where machete-wielding gangsters roam the streets. We cannot allow our homicide rate to continue to spike.
This city needs a real response from all levels of government to this problem before it is too late.
But hey, don't check them out beforehand, because that's just racist !
