It doesn't say anything about investment income. That is the reason so many wealthy Americans pay less income tax than some of their employees (Warren Buffet being a notable example of this).

Still, I could see some people moving elsewhere and earning less, because with a lower tax hit, income might still be similar or even higher. Even with that, finding those types of jobs aren't all that easy, so I doubt many will be able to do so in the short term.


The US used to have a 75% tax bracket - during the good times, when it was on top of the world.

Yep. Definitely had nothing to do with Europe and Japan being too devastated by war to compete economically and China too busy causing famines with the Great Leap Forward.
