The people who advocate war should also have to face the ugliness and violence inherent in war.
Likewise, if anyone should support abortion then they, too, should have to face the ugliness and violence inherent in abortion.
Bart and I seldom share an opinion, but we are on exaclty the same page here.
Can't stomach it? Perhaps you shouldn't support abandoning life because it is inconvenient.
Thank you.
As someone who has been ordered to commit violence I do strongly believe that those who give the orders and that those who pay for the orders (taxpayers) should have to see what they have wrought.
I've also noted before that even when given
carte blanc on dispensing mayhem upon individuals I still act just as judiciously as I normally would.
I acknowledge the necessity of such things, I render proper honor to the men and women to whom these tasks fall, yet I still much prefer the safety and comfort of my living room at home as opposed to having the legal right to lethally harm someone else.
Abortion in the day and age of freely available birth control measures bespeaks an almost criminal level of irresponsibility on the part of woman. Yes, I single out women here because men do not carry children. That and we live in a time where if a woman says "no" then her word is final.
Then onto the similarity in my logic, abortion is no more a hypothetical notion that war.
No successful abortion has ever been completed without a death.
Showing the pictures makes abortion advocates have to face this discomforting fact.
Are you offended by the pictures?
Then maybe you should be offended by abortion the same way you want people to be offended by war.
