Yup. Kind of dismaying when you think about it that news services and science websites would fall for that without double checking the authenticity of it themselves. If you go to those coordinates on google earth and google maps there's nothing there. There's only those photoshopped images that somebody else posted on internet and it went viral in 2 days. LOL.

I like how all those images come with a direct link to the Google Maps coordinates giving the nice impression that they are in fact real.

No explanation for why Google wouldn't replace these 'hacked images' with the proper ones upon them being revealed to the public? Then I'm going to assume they're real.

Ya, some of these have been pointed out years ago. Google Earth is lazy. Why do they leave faked images in their program?
