tritium tritium:
You are being very picky about words Zipperfish. I was just saying they should feel the same as the victims here and we may see some real justice.

I just want to know how killing the child of the person you have an issue with constitutes any kind of justice.

Zipperfish Zipperfish:

planned (premeditated) vs. unplanned murder

Partly right. "planned and deliberate." So the Crown has to prove those two elements of the case (planned AND deliberate). Proof normally requires evidence. If the Crown has insufficient evidence that the murder was both planned and deliberate, then it would not be in the public interest to proceed with first-degree murder charges because the likelihood of success would be low. It's got nothing to do with the so-called "liberal" crown prosecutors. I deal with and know a few Crown prosecutors adn I don't find them to overwhelmingly liberal.

Anything else you care to know, maybe my dick size. :D

Well, I guess that statement is as indicative of any of the strength of your argument so far.

At this point you're punch drunk and stumbling around the ring. Best thing to do is just stay down.

Poor Mr. Li. He's surely all torn up with grief over what happened and maybe if he gets in front of the right judge he'll get the therapy he needs and then can return to society in a few years to live the life he really deserves. Putting him in jail just won't serve any productive purpose.

I hope you're being serious. I'm pretty surprised you even said this. This is the only comment in this thread that actually addresses the issue of what happened.

Li had a psychotic break, and a particularly bad one. I imagine he does feel pretty awful right now, after realising what he's done. He should given asylum and proper psychiatric treatment, he was insane while he was killing the guy next to him.

And I'm thinking after he gets out of treatment we should move him in right next door to you. He needs to be with people who'd be more accepting of his condition.

I'll lose all hope for the legal system if this guy is ever granted parole, and I don't care if he uses the "mental health conditions" excuse. This guy did a gruesome murder to a complete stranger.

I'm a firm believer that violent criminals who get released way too
early need to be living right WITH those who sought to free them
in the first place, those who sentenced them too leniently, or those who
paroled them...or in the basement apartments of John Howard society
members.

So now they will do an evaluation and find out he has mental health problems and he will not go to jail as he will supposidly not be responsable for his actions due to a mental health issue.
Unfortunately we cannot force people to be medicated.

Nothing less than 25 years is exceptable, and even then I think Canada should be able to put someone in prison for the rest of their natural life.

That would be a little too easy. I'd want to have him suffer for the rest of his life, and I hope he lives till eternity.

Definitely this moron should be charged first-degree murder and tossed away.

I guess some Liberal judge feels this guy is worthy of being returned to the streets at some day in the future.

I only wish he had killed the judges daughter.

why in fuck is it always a liberal judge.. there are many tory judges and I know cases that were put back on the street by them.. you need to get over the liberal shit and tell it like it is..Canada is soft on immigrants and soft on crime.. liberal, tory, NDP or Bloc they all are soft when it comes to immigrant crime..
