Seriously, toad is a racist term? I mean, I'm sure frog was one against the French, but I really wouldn't call it racist. Bigoted maybe, but not racist.

Well, now I know, I guess. Might as well have redneck as a racist term against those who inhabit the American rural south.

For sure, if toad can be considered "racist" and offensive than redneck should be removed as well.

I also find it funny that posters who call people members of White power or racist organizations like the KKK or the Neo-Nazis aren't punished, considering those two things are loaded just as much as the word racist, and racist terms as well

Hey Zipperhead, maybe you should be more offended by this. Moron.

$1:
MONTREAL - Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe took time out from St-Jean-Baptiste Day festivities to liken his federalist rivals to "rednecks" in their treatment of the French language.

He directed the shot at Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, upset that they won't extend Quebec language laws to federally run institutions in the province.

I'll translate it for you, any federally government run institution building in the province of Quebec. He wants them to adapt Bill 101. French only. English people work there but would have to speak french only.

Still pissed off with the word toad ?

I think he's ignoring the actual topic.

Yeah, yeah, I know, this is Canada. It's OK to call the Quebecois "frogs" or some thinly-veiled facsmile thereof, and it's OK to call Indians lazy and stupid, as I've seen posted here in the past. Just because it's accepted don't mean it's not racist or bigoted. And I'll call it when I see it.

Always funny to see Duceppe allowed to say things such as this, but when there are comments about him or the Bloc, he acts like a baby and starts whining and crying about it.

Now, there's a class act for ya. The Bloc no longer has a purpose in Ottawa, perhaps Duceppe should saddle up and ride into the sunset.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the original topic, and what you think of people being called rednecks?

Have I ever referred to rural south inhabitants as "rednecks"? No. So why put me on the spot? As for the original topic, I don't particulalry agree with Duceppe, but it doesn't cause me to make slurs against Quebecois.

You don't have to call someone a redneck in order to have an opinion. You certainly had an opinion of someone being called a toad.
