"The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union said the company stopped contributing to workers' pensions last year, and the union wants pension benefits restored."
Yeah we just aren't going to pay you how we said we would.
"Wedrick Hollingsworth, business agent for Local 372-B of the bakers union, said union members took wage and benefit concessions four years ago and are unwilling to accept further wage cuts and reductions in health and pension benefits sought by the company."
And please let us pay you even less in the future!

It's the basic story of a company unable to compeat who sees the only way they can do better is to try and force pay cuts onto employees.
"Sales are down, we need to pay our workers less! Why don't people buy our products? It's almost like workers don't get paid enough to buy luxuries, cut worker pay more we need to reduce our costs, oh and because I came up with this genius plan I could use a 300% raise in my salary. What!? You think that's unreasonable? Well I didn't see you come up with the pay everyone less and wonder why no one buys our stuff business plan now did I?"
