Actually, I think it's the other way around - if you are armed and confronted by a tough, you are more likely to resist than just to cave in and give him your wallet. And often that ends up badly for the person who tries to deal with a criminal on their terms. There's a reason the police tell you to just hand over your money - your life is worth far more than the few bucks inside it.

Using a firearm to stopped being robbed is safer than compliance.

The police tell everyone to just do what criminals say because they don't want to be sued if someone gets hurt fighting back.

Or did you think the police gave a single shit if you get hurt?
