All gun owners are potentially criminals to you. Why not just say that. Stop beating around the bush.

BeaverFever BeaverFever:
I’m also aware that the AK is a prohibited weapon.

Are you? Because in the very same paragraph where you note that an AK is a prohibited weapon you claim that:

BeaverFever BeaverFever:
...someone legally bought the AK then sold it to a criminal and got away with it because if lax gun laws.

How can someone legally buy a prohibited weapon? [huh]

Canada doesn't have lax gun laws. Canada has poor policing of the organized crime groups that bring guns in from the United States. Canada also has very poor street-level policing of those most likely to be selling illegal guns in our big cities because that kind of policing has been "determined" to be racist. Your point about lax gun laws is ridiculous.

As I have posted before: I once had the experience of bringing some very lovely rifles to Canada to deliver to law enforcement and I had all the proper paperwork for the import.

When I got to the border with trailer in tow I was only asked how long my trip was going to be and I answered the question and got waved through.

With a trailer full of high powered rifles and about twenty thousand rounds of precision ammunition.

At least it was all legal but still how much kit crosses the border and no one even bothers to ask about it?

What are you and llama doing a Laurel and Hardy routine?

It obviously wasn’t prohibited when it was first made and sold now was it? It’s not prohibited in the US is it? Gun manufacturers don’t manufacture and sell illegal weapons. They make and sell legal weapons for legal buyers. Then someone somewhere sells it illegally, sometimes to be smuggled into Canada.

Is that so hard to comprehend?

Better idea: Let's elect a government that promises to ban Liberals.

Problem solved.

So, you need the Registry to extend to the States because those gun owners are also criminals to you.

You're right, it wasn't but now it is, for Grandfathered weapons there is still a registry.

Do you think all car owners are potentially criminals? They have to register their cars. Why treat guns more lax than cars?

Cars are only registered to collect revenue for greedy governments, nothing to do with safety concerns.
Also firearms are not treated more lax, just check out the hoops needed to jump through to acquire a firearm and compare that with car ownership.

They. Fucking. Do. Not.

YOU GET LICENSED TO OWN A GUN.

If gun laws are so lax go get an AR or AK, and prove me wrong.

The AK-47 has NEVER been legal for sale in Canada or the USA. Ever.

I was teaching the federal firearms safety class when it FAC’s first became law. One of the provisions was a 5 year +fine clause for anyone caught with an unregistered firearm. So gangbangers could go to the slammer if caught with their pistolie. No need to find them guilty of the drive by shooting, you get 5 for having the pistol—-and right away . Disappeared by the end.

There’s no gun ban coming and no way to

Well now, we should just listen to the official Mouth of Justine on this issue.
