Get the media writer, use it to download a live image and put it on a USB stick. Boot from the USB stick, and just take it for a test drive. It won't change your current set up unless you tell it to. (Back up your data first!!)

If you don't need Windows specifically, it does everything Windows does. I used it on my work laptop for almost 2 years, and it did everything I needed, and a few things my current work laptop (running Windows) doesn't.

Exactly. Edge has been there since the last big Windows update. It's mildly annoying for two minutes then it's gone and you don't have to use it ever again.

Oh I got that particular update and I stand by my previous statement. I probably didn’t find it as obtrusive is because I had kept Edge and in my taskbar so it wasn’t a big deal for me. All I noticed was the logo change and the prompts to make it the default browser which I declined.

The new Edge is built on Chromium and the icon looks like a blue wave. The original Edge was a slug. Opened with a blank page and sat like a stunned wonder for 10 seconds until it loaded MSN or whatever.
The Save Password is under the three dots (like most) Settings/Passwords, turn on offer to save.

I WISH we had Shaw here. Telus bought out the cable company here and suddenly the Internet packages are within 1 GB cap, 1 Mb speed and $1.00 a month of their DSL packages. Another miracle of Cdn capitalism.
They push their version of Norton, even offer it free so a lot of people "I have to use it, it was free" - same fucking complaint as these Edge Karens.
Fucking uninstall Norton or Macafee the minute you see it. Then don't even think of looking for a "better" antivirus. Leave things alone.

I tend to use Firefox for 90% of things, Windows, Linux and Macs. Might be a blink of an eye slower but it's been around so long, doesn't move shit every update and works on everything. Even added it to the Raspberry Pi because the default Chromium is just too plain-jane.

Put in a new video card for a guy who's handicapped and went out and bought him a USB cable for it, told him not to worry about paying me. Shit, a $10 cable, I've done lots of shit for him and he's referred many customers to me.
He told me I wasn't leaving empty handed and gave me his old video card, a GTX950. Not the greatest but miles better than what I got and better than the Vega 11 on the Ryzen3400G I was planning to buy.
Now I'm looking at a cheaper 4 core 3300X which outperforms the 6 core 3400G. If it is ever in stock anywhere either....
