none of that addresses the accepting the bribe charge, with Nigel Wright not charged for giving the bribe. That should get interesting. That's got nothing to do with senate rules.

Should be lack of rules.

The Criminal code prevents anyone from giving money to a Senator, and a Senator from accepting any money without the Party Leader's permission. That's a pretty serious 'rule' that was breached.

Which section of the criminal code does this apply to?

When you look at laws like this, you know how corrupt political contributions are.

Such an easy way to get around it.

You mean Stephen Harper? Good chance Duffy/Wright had Harper's permission ("good to go"), so if that is the case, why not just say so and make the case go away?

I don't think there is any way out for Harper. All he can do is do nothing, and claim to let justice take it's course.

If he says he knew, then he's breaking his promise for Senate Reform. If he says he didn't know, Wright is guilty of offering a bribe and he's soft on crime. If he just sits back and lets 'Justice take it's course', we get to find out juicy details like McKay thought Harper was the one who media leaked his infamous Helicopter ride from the fishing lodge.

Environment Canada needs to put some:

"Feeding Senators is dangerous and illegal.
DO NOT FEED THE SENATORS"

... signs around the Hill.

Oh and it seems Duffy's unauthorized expenses also included payments to....drum roll please......Ezra Levant!

Quick, NF, looks like Ezra might be in more trouble and need another donation from you!! Just whatever pennies you can spare, he's unemployed and has a struggling online business, you know.

Also Duffy paid for Harper's make-up during an event that the Senate had already told Duffy make up doesn't qualify. Guess Stevo thought he was getting dolled up by the make up artist for free because she looooooved him.

Harper is responsible for all of this. Harper put Duffy in there and if he was really into punishing people for doing unethical things then he would have had Duffy ages ago.

Harper set the table and after Duffy got outed, good old Stephen makes him a scapegoat. Anything Harper (or anyone else) says about Duffy as it relates to this entire mess is precisely about Harper.

Stephen Harper is a liar. He has lied many times but this time there is definitive proof.
