Lemmy Lemmy: Until your Supreme Court says otherwise. Care to wager on that outcome? Depends on whether or not the Republicans cave on Obama's nominee. They better not or they're going to be in a world of hurt from their own party members and they know it.

BartButtHurt BartButtHurt: waaaaaaaaaaaa
Calling out your bigotry and your part-time Christianity is a valid point in this topic. If you want to wade into religious discussion and openly express your bigotry and stupidity all in one post, you'll get what's coming to you in an open forum and open discussion. The only one here that constantly shows anger with multiple 'fuck-you's' per week along with your usual chest-beating, knuckle-dragging comments, you've got some nerve to talk about anyone having anger. Talking about your bigotry doesn't anger me. Far from it. I feel bad that there's still dinosaurs like you that think this way.

Wow, it's just amazing that some people are equating life saving surgery to baking a cake. FFS one person takes the Hippocratic oath swearing to respect the sanctity of life and not discriminate while, the other guy might have taken an oath not to put to much vanilla in the mix but, even that's unlikely. But as far as discrimination from doctors goes trust me it's there and this treating everyone is just that crap. When I got out of the Navy and the wife and I moved to our new city we had to find a new doctor for both of us. Well, the only one we could find that was taking new patients was down in a poorer part of town. But, the neat thing was that we had to conduct an interview with the asshole before he'd accept us as patients. He sat us down introduced himself and then started to question us on whether we smoked did drugs or drank. I asked him why he was asking these questions and he replied because he wouldn't treat anyone who was an alcoholic or drug addict and he was considering cutting the smokers out of his practice to. So, here's the 64 thousand dollar question. Would you rather have some baker tell you he won't bake a cake because he doesn't like your lifestyle or would you rather have a doctor refuse to treat you because of your lifestyle?

No, that's a 2 cent question because, why should we need to choose? Why not have the patient and the cake-buyer walk away without being discriminated against? Why not ask everyone to put their petty bullshit aside when it comes to providing a service for one's fellow man? That sounds like a decidedly Christian point of view, granted, but still.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: Lemmy Lemmy: BartSimpson BartSimpson: Force a Muslim bakery to do it and let us know how that works out for you. The "Muslim" part is irrelevant. No, it's not. Because people like yourself have no problem forcing your shit on people who won't kill you for doing so. Keep this shit up and sooner or later some one of you activist shitstains will walk into the wrong place and make some ridiculous PC demand and you'll get your ass shot or beheaded for your trouble. And if you people keep wanting to use the force of law to force your sexual deviance on everyone else then sooner or later you're going to see a backlash that won't just include telling you to take your gay cake order somewhere else. People like you are just a bunch of fucking bullies and this horseshit is just an excuse for you to indulge your sadistic impulses. If you want a gay wedding cake why not go to a gay tolerant bakery? Duh. I don't bother the gay bakery when I want a cake for an occasion that would offend the gays. Can't you fuckers have that much sense, too? Then maybe the "Christians" should just put a big fucking cross on their businesses so they can be assured that no one whom they disapprove of will walk in and try to give them their business. In fact, let's make it a law. All Christian business owners should have to have a cross somewhere on their business to denote the point that customers may be dealing with an intolerant jackass who still lives by idiotic stone age beliefs.

I've never heard a sandwich sing "Oklahoma", but I could ask them . . . .

It would make a lot of sense to paint the crosses on the windows of those businesses so people could readily know which businesses were Christian or not. Maybe you should also have them wear a cross on their clothes when they go out in public so people would know who they are. ... And thank you for your comment as it makes clear what I was trying to say all along.

I think we (well, the Germans) tried that one time.

I think we (well, the Germans) tried that one time. Except in the US, which is so heavily dominated by evangelical Christendom, the cross would become a symbol of privilege. Got a cross on your coat? First in line to see your senator. President Cruz proudly wears his cross or President Clinton wears her cross to attract votes, etc.

Mind you I was unable to get a chicken and cheese sandwich in a deli two blocks away the next afternoon.

Hillary would not wear a cross if Christians were required to wear it.
To his credit, I think Bill might.

President Cruz proudly wears his cross or President Clinton wears her cross to attract votes, etc. I think your first statement may be more perception than fact. I'd agree that parts of the USA are behind Canada and other western nations in terms of the movement towards secularism, but the majority of Americans, I think, "get it". The USA is clearly farther along than, say, the Middle Eastern countries. This is where the Moslem haters fail: they don't get that Islamic terrorism isn't about Islam but about movement to secularism. Christian societies are no different, just farther along in that development process. Your second statement seems a wildly unlikely speculation. More importantly, the US Supreme Court, despite whatever political bent each justice brings, tends to follow secularism in their decision making. They're able to separate their religious views from their judiciary duties. That's why this law will undoubtedly be struck down.
