I applaud New Jersey for getting rid of the Death Penalty.

It's too bad the U.S as a whole would not adopt Canada's views in regards to the Death Penalty.

I see no reason for the Death Penalty to exist.

Besides, putting someone to death is an easy way out for them.It would be more torturous for someone to spend an eternity behind bars.

And let's not forget statistics.....It's reported that 1 out of 9 people on Death Row are actually innocent.

I don't know if abolishing the death penalty was the answer. However, it does offer the opportunity to study offenders for much longer. Just watch though, if things get tough in New Jersey and crime rates rise, you watch folks bitch and moan for it back.

Agreed Kevalarman.Abolishing the Death Penalty doesn't solve
everything,but it's a very good start.

It will be interesting to see how long this law will
last in New Jersey.

.. and lets not forget that more than 57% of statistics used in arguments are made up.

Watching how crime plays out in and around this state may be informative but I can't see any lack of criminals to study.
