Heh, I liked the sparing between him and Dr. Zelenka. Rod was by far my favorite.

He was probably the best Evolved character. Going from completely unlikable in SG1, to being very likable toward the end of Atlantis.

DerbyX DerbyX:
What post?

I said, They removed Stargate: Atlantis for this?

Stargate: Atlantis had a great storyline, great characters and best of all. Great villians. The Wraith were just complete awesome. Not to mention when the series ended. They introduced already a new species + made it clear that there were many other advanced civilians out there not yet discovered. Advanced civilizations that can help battle the wraith or be new enemies. The series could have lasted a lot longer but they decided to end it for this show. I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover and I am going to watch it anyways because its made by most of the Atlantis people and thankfully none of the SG1 people. However I suspect they will be handing out free wine with all the cheese they will be dishing out.

hmmmmm...I am a big Stargate fan, but I am not convinced after watching the trailer. I'll be checking it out though, no doubt.

Saw it last week on Megavideo. The opening scene with the Lt. banging the chick in the supply room catches your attention.

I watched SGU episode 1, 2, and 3. This is my opinion on it. It is a decent show, it's worth the watch however I do not believe it is going to be as interesting as other the other stargates, exeption for the horrible SG1 of course.

It has all the realism of Stargate Atlantis, and by the realism I mean none of that SG1 Castles and cape wearing wizards none sense. However it also lacks the multiple funny aspects of Stargate Atlantis. Some of the characters are decent, only one I actually found funny which is the nerd kid who looks a little chubby. A couple others like Dr. Rush who are decent and some of the soldiers. However everybody else I found to be completly annoying expecially the ones that are constantly blaming shit on others and complaining and sobbing about everything.

IMO the show is way too dramatic for me in the sense that there is way too character being dramatic and being annoying. Must SG shows have maybe 1 or two who are dramatic and sobby or atleast just dramatic. SGU seems to fill there cast with complete dramatic and sobby characters which you can really find annoying fast.

The storyline seems alright, generally they are stuck on a ancient ship that has traveled through hundreds of thousands of galaxy's away from earth. With life support failing and becoming problematic they discover the ship stops at gates that were left at all these galaxy's and planets that were inhabitable by previous ancient ships that were designed for that soul purpose. The team has to stop at each gate presented to collect supplies to live off of and also fix there life support and any other problems they got.

Along the way they may encounter various alien species, however they cannot get home because the gate only dials one gate address and that of which was on a planet that was recently destroyed. With low power there only way of surviving seems to be stopping at these gates.

Storyline kicks ass a bit in the sense that there survival is horrible and there only hope is searching these planets so looks like they are actually going to be discovering more things on planets this show rather then the other SG shows. The other SG shows was more of kicking alien ass than anything which was fantastic and probally will have the same here but more exploration.

^^ Agreed. But the one thing that will bug me is playing fast and loose with Relativity. Just a few hours travelling faster than light (or even near light), and everyone back on Earth would die of old age. Minor slip there.

If I can suspend my disbelief in that, it'll be good. And, I liked some of those episodes of SG1 with wizards and shit! Like Merlin! He kicked ass.

And RDA needs to stand farther away from the cheeseburgers.

Still too early to tell how Universe will be, but the first 2 Episodes seemed good, but the 3rd was a big WTF for me. As Bacardi stated, way too Dramatic, but it's the Mysticism in the third that makes me shake my head.

The symbology did seem a little Old Testament, didn't it.
