It's a nice day today. Only a slight breeze. The wood stove is maintaining 19 C nicely. Going to walk up to the mailbox with my 15 month old son. The lake is keeping temps about 5 C warmer than inland. Currently -8 C. :)

I just checked and it's -11 here now south of you. Now the chinook will build and roll in and the wind will make blizzard conditions here for a few days. That warm air is coming off the rockies, hopefully it stays.

-20 here at home now and with a clear sky it will probably hit -30 again tonight.

Good stuff for the pine and spruce beetles, drive the frost deep within their pores.

I finally got a hold of camp today and they had a 6 hour reprieve this morning so tried to get to town. The blizzard resumed about noon and they had to turn back and now their in a survival shack somewhere out on the tundra. They have heat, food, water and communication there and it's also on all the gps's so isnt hard to find in zero visibility with the snow-cat if need be.We have a survival shack every 5 miles on the 100 miles of road out of camp, good thing. They must be quite low on food and I imagine the fat guys are getting a bit nervous right about now.

I dont think anyones been able to get in or out of camp for 12 days now,or maybe more.

We are under a snowfall warning too, but there has been some (8 cm or something, maybe 10) but not even close to a warning :?

I am actually disappointed...

The cold was not supposed to be here anyway, and it is -4 now...

Since the winds started coming from the east it's allmost -18 now.So when you hear an Albertan say nothing good ever comes from the east, thats what were talking about.

Being on the edge of the rockies the weather can go from one extreme to another in minutes.

Pretty ugly out there right now,i have some cold beers in the fridge and some delissio pizza's in the freezer, think I'll just stay home today.

We're sitting at -28 today with a windchill factor of -40.
Looks like we're gonna be stuck with it for a couple of weeks too.

Sun's shining though!
