I dont know people from Alaska, never met anyone from there. If she represents the Alaskan intellectuals the state is doomed. The woman, and I use the term very loosely, couldnt even list one paper she read when this debacle started!
$1: "And you have to be up on not only current events, but you have to understand the foundation of the issues that you're working on."
She makes it sounds as if people dont know this already!! What a fucking moron!

Well, a lady from Alaska is in my Masters program and she is really smart, unlike Palin. Palin is just trying to make herself sound educated, when the whole world knows it isn't true.

Hell, I can make myself sound pretty damn intellectual too but it doesn't mean that I should be elected to office. And I pity you poor fools if I ever am! ![Drool [drool]](./images/smilies/droolies.GIF)

Honestly, I think Palin is smart as a whip. You don't get to where she is by being stupid. Just because she appeals to ignorance doesn't mean that she is ignorant.
I just think she dosn't know enough about issues that would be important for a VP to know, that she'd be horribly divisive to an already divided US, she's ethcially challenged and she lacks the copacity for self-examination.

Other than the title where in that article does Sarah Palin say she considers herself an intellectual?
One can only shake one's head, you know. The MSM tells people what to think, and they fall in line to think it in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

Palin would be no more divisive than Obama already is. And as the very successful governor of a small (in population) state she is just as qualified to be President as was Bill Clinton.

Just to jump in, but I agree with Zip; she's obviously shrewd and canny enough to succeed in politics.
However, her entire campaign so far has done nothing but appeal the anti-intellectualism in the GOP of today.

I'm sorry, but she is stupid, Politician or not.
Hell, we in Canada have people like Jack Layton, Elizabeth May, Municipal councillors, etc. who are all politicians and are still dumb as a bag of hammers.
And if anyone here has seen Religulous, then you'll remember the Senator saying: "Well, you don't exactly need to pass an IQ test to become a Senator..."
Politicians can be extremely stupid. America's current President is evidence of that...

Exactly Bart. The true ignorance is by lazy asses who just take whatever the mainstream media throw at them. The negative attacks on Palin have been utterly deplorable and reek of elitism. She is way, way more experienced than Obama. The only thing he has ever had to manage is his huge ego. If she has the last laugh I will piss myself laughing.
