Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Says what law.

Because I remember a bunch of people bitching about pot smokers
toking in 'non-smoking' parks and cops being powerless.

If a law has changed I'd like to know.

very interesting, do you think you can find any link to this? I will look, as well.

According to this article, pot smokers have to obey the same rules as cigarette-smokers in public:

$1:
The existing Marijuana Medical Access Regulations, which came into force in 2001, do not stipulate where patients can use their marijuana. While users must abide by any federal or provincial legislation and local bylaws that restrict smoking cigarettes in public places, there are no other specific prohibitions on medical pot use in public.

So no, I don't have to accept it :)

thanks Brenda, that was a good find.

It's worth noting that Mr.Canada was acknowledging that it was a possibility, the guys dont need to be jumping all over him on this matter.

Scape Scape:
$1:
"My wife can't smoke her medication because she has lung cancer, so I make the butter and smoothies," Mellace said in a news release issued prior to his stunt. "It's ridiculous to think that I could go to jail for easing my wife's suffering."

Couldn't agree more.

I think this points to a need to get better with prescribing pot when it's medical benefits are even fairly possible.

I think the most important word is "other". No "other" restrictions than for cigarettes.

Im sure most municipal guidelines that restrict cigarette smoking in public restaurants dont care what type of wacky tobaccy you have rolled, I'm sure they want to restrict it all.

Public Restaurants?

Groups may wish to restrict it. Whether they can or not...

Unless they specifically said that marijuana also can not be smoked instead of
just being a rigid bylaw on cigarettes, then there's nothing legally on their side.

Unless there's an external legislation dictating that medical marijuana
be treated publicly equally with cigarettes and cigarette limitations.

nice catch
