This coverage pisses me off. Oh yeah let's send Harry, he's not going to be King anytime soon, but we're not sending William.
Hello. A life is a life. And no soldier is more precious than any other. Both these boys want to fight. Let them.
Didn't kings used to lead their troops into battle?
The last one was King George II when he defeated the French at the Battle of Dettingen in 1743.
But that wouldn't happen nowadays, just as you'll probably never see any American President lead any American troops into battle anymore.
One reason why William - and maybe Harry - will probably never be sent to war is the same reason why members of the Royal Family never fly on the same aeroplane - if it crashes several members of the Royal family will be wiped out all in one go.
And think of the extra danger that British soldiers will be put under if the Princes were sent to war. The enemy would see the killing of the Princes as some sort of special trophy and so would put the regiment in greater danger.
