Why I am not surprised in this culture of no losers only winners.

Reminds me as a kid I forced my folks to get me a huge world map which was hung on my side of the wall and I spent hours looking up countries standing on my bed. I was the most amazing thing to me at the time.

Could explain why I spend so much time today, scanning the world on Google Maps just looking in amazement at how beautiful our planet is.

Geography sucks anyway. Always hated it.

But yes, these days, at least here in BC, they seem more enthused about getting boys to wear pink shirts than they do about teaching math. Simply put, you have to take responsibility for your own child's education. The public school system, more and more, is becoming merely a tool for normalizing children to turn them into productive citizens (aka sheep) than the teaching of reading, writing and arithmetic. That's why punctuality, attendance, silence and scrupulously following instructions are more important than grades.
