"quote" As expected they were rude arrogant etc etc, but we being in the hospitality industry always have to give service with a smile. didnt speak a word of English or anything else than French. Was impossible to communicate.

Sounds like most of the doctors I have to deal with from the middle east every day.Spend most of my time correcting their fucked up orders.

Funny how one group says this shit about the other.. its said about the Americans, British, French, Spanish, and funny thing eh? tourists come from all countries and many don't speak the language(s) of that country. And lets not confuse the french from france with Québecois.. or any other french speaking nation. Montréal was just named the happiest city and Québecers are among the most polite.

You skipped the part where the French people started speaking English once they reached their destination.

Hmmm ya guess I did.. however I would say one is more comfortable in their mother tongue.. I speak perfect English, but when I am at home in Québec I prefer to speak french.. I have family who cannot speak English. I have some younger neices and nephews who can sing songs in English but have difficulty speaking it... so depends I guess..

So you mean to say outside of Quebec they would be fish out of water, not able to communicate effectively, not integrate, or be very productive members of society.

Ironic how you always consider that as the major problem with immigrants and immigration.

Against mostly what I've read by Ken and many others here I would still like to believe they are the minority rather than the majority voice.

Actully we are the majority.... most people think it but don't say it because of the so called politically correctness. Its like the affirmative action and multiculturalism... people are pissed with it, but feel there is nothing you can do about it.. best way I know is let them know if they can't integrate or accept the laws of the land then don't come here... end of story.

Again, you're missing the point. This tour wasn't in France or Quebec. It was also clearly an English-oriented tour. The fact that the French people were deliberate shit disturbers is blatantly evident.

In Kenmore's defense, he's not that bad despite what many here at CKA think and he's far more reasonable and capable of intelligent debate that most separatists and Ken himself hardly qualifies as a separatist.

I know but I have yet to see anything from ol Ken that can be labeled reasonable or very inteligent. Other than ignorant crap which he claims represents the majority view in Canada but no one is as ballsy as him to express it.

It might interest desertdude to know I hold a PhD in nursing and I can hold my own in any worthwhile debate. However some things are just not debatable topics. I have strong feelings on immigration. There is a great difference among immigrants from various countries and how they perceive their acceptance here. I take great issue with those who come here as enemies and those whose sole purpose is to take advantage of a generous country without contributing to it. I have issues with those who although given the right to religious freedom want to change ours and our system of justice.. My thoughts are don't bite the hand that feeds you. In many cases the people themselves are not responsible for the actions of the governments of the home country. But as is with the immigrants from the Islamic countries it is the religion that dictates their behavior and the religion is the politics because the leaders of the countries are also the religious leaders.. A big issue that is debated constantly is how can people from such different culture and value system want to bring their children to the west and expect the status quo? As in the youtube video. How can they expect a warm reception anyplace when they demonstrate like that against the very country that takes them in. Takes them in for (as we often hear from immigrants ) a new and better life.

I say we ban muslim immigration and then advertise Canada as the best muslim-free country in Europe countries. In some years they will be so flooded by islamism that they will want to emigrate in a place that still has Western values. That way, we will have immigration and GOOD one while building a better country !

These aren't "Western Values" so much as Republican ideals since Western Values can include ideas from all cultures, ethnicities and across the political spectrum.

All this Islamophobia is really starting to bug me, and I'm not even Muslim. Am I the only who remembers the time before 9/11 when most people couldn't give two shits about Muslims in general or their immigration to countries? Even since that fucking day, more and more people have been screaming bloody murder about Muslims and how apparently NOW they're out to destroy our entire civilization.

Only in the past decade has there been such an outcry and vilification of Muslims in general not seen since the days of good old fashioned Irish-hating or that lovely period in the 20th century that royally sucked for Jews. As far as I can tell, most Muslims are perfectly normal people who just want to lead a normal life and be left alone. Besides, they've brought to us hookahs, hashish, shawarma, baklawa, pita and humus. I'm not gonna complain.

eeeh I just saw a family of muslims getting out of a park in Montreal with 2 little girls about 8 and 10 wearing black burqa. For you those are "Western values" ? Come on. Islam is not compatible with how we live in our developed society. That's not islamophobia, that's just reality. It's like saying that a Black has a darker skin than a White. That's not racist, that's reality.
