As such you should be one of the first to say that this white privilege you're talking about is mostly an illusion.
if you catch yourself agreeing with what P_D wrote in this heavily sarcastic post, which i am quoting below, and think it is acceptable, you have white privilege, period, end of story.

Today I Learned I'm white and male so it's super hard/impossible for me to get a job or go to school, or something. Man, if only my name was Mahammad Mahammad, for sure that would make my resume a hit! Glad to have a scapegoat to lean on. Darn it sure sucks to be white.
I know, if I make drunk native jokes, I'll contribute to a world that handles these social issues appropriately!
Or I'll for once focus on some disgruntled group in some carefully selected third world shithole to encourage enacting reactionary legislation here, with consequences I never have to see or experience.
i'll say it again for clarity. if you find yourself agreeing with anything written in this satirical quote above, you have the privilege of being able to say these kinds of things about other people and usually facing no consequences. what is changing is that now you will face consequences. you are going to be under a microscope, and you are going to be incredibly uncomfortable. it's never too late to decide to educate yourself and unlearn this behaviour, though. you can drop the supremacist act any time.

No one gives a fuck about you, or me. You're not receiving a cheque from the government every second Tuesday based on your skin colour and neither am I.
nor is anyone else.

We aren't eligible for a lot of other programs either for job training and housing and that's because we are male and white and not one of the oppressed (allegedly) groups that are eligible.

Privilege goes along with money and very little else. You've bought into something that might exist on certain levels in the United States but for the most part doesn't in Canada.
there is much more to privilege than money. you can be poor and still have plenty of privilege. if you can't think of how you might be privileged as a white, heterosexual male, that is just how invisible that privilege is, and how unaware you are of the harm you cause by refusing to acknowledge that privilege.
