What is this guy, 10 years old? Yelling "unfair" and pushing a woman multiple times. Real professional.

But, but.....she pushed him first and was trying to get him to step out of line.!! At least that's his story....fully justified.

I doubt it, dude. Curt once seriously compared Canadian police officers to the Gestapo so, on that type of nonsense alone, he's capable of all sorts of demented hyperbole.

I read that pot smoking can lead to psychosis so it is quite possible.

We might want to hand these out, y'know, just in case.

Always cute to see someone with such a depraved hatred for the Prime Minister that he chooses to defend a reporter/agent of China's state-controlled media instead. All the pot being consumed must cause some weird brain chemistry reactions.

That was my first knee-jerk reaction but I then thought about it and I'm pretty sure Curt was laughing at the irony of Li's lament.

No chance.

$1:
"The Prime Minister's Office shouldn't deprive my right. It's not democratic," Li said later.

The prime minister's director of communications, Andrew MacDougall, responded to the incident on Twitter.

"Agree or disagree with how events are run, there was no excuse for the Chinese state reporter to get physical with our staff," he wrote. "We will be raising the matter with the [parliamentary] press gallery and Mr. Li should apologize immediately."

ROTFL

He's probably used to having an accountable government that takes questions from journalists.

Hey! Stop it! The Chinese come from a brutal, one party system ... with no ... officially recognised opposition ...

Never mind.

A foreign journalist thinking he has a "right" to ask a question, and shoving an aide?

Guess how many future events he'll be allowed to attend.

Maybe we should send Mike Duffy over to find out what's up with Tibet.

Pretty sad state of affairs when the Canadian press corps has become so bovine that it takes a reporter from Communist China to do what Canadian reporters should be doing--demanding answers.

Demanding what answers? He wanted to press the PM on our limitations on Chinese state ownership of Canadian business.

You need to watch this season of 'The Newsroom'. One reporter it put in the Romney 2012 election bus. Hilarity ensues.

Scotiabank couldn't even buy a minority stake in a second string Chinese bank without being smothered in red tape.

And we sold them one of our largest oil companies lock, stock, and barrel.

There is a world of difference between us and them.

'Zactly. Like Lemmy said - the reporter knew the answer to his own question, he just wanted to make a statement that could be replayed on Chinese TV without anyone having to bring up the reciprocal question. Chinese Media has had enough fun beraiting Canada for our business as usual while ignoring their own.

For once, I'm glad the PM didn't fall for the bait.

Meh. I'm not buying it. I think the PM staff and secuity detail started teh physical altercation. And if it were merely phgysica, it doesn't explain why they started throwing out the camers filming the arrest.

I don't care if he "knew the answer" before he asked the question. All reporters do.

I just don't like the idea of arresting reporters who ask questions.

National Post had photographs of the altercation in their article. Pretty well everyone (CBC, National Post, CTV, etc) is reporting that Li became physical with Julie Vaux. Now Li claims that Vaux shoved him first, but unfortunately for him no one witnessed it.

In a room full of media. No one saw it.

Think about it.
