But even beyond that does it seem a good strategy to give billions to a country that some say has been in a war with America since the hostage crisis and regularly has it's follower shout Death to America on it's streets? Iran has been financing missile attacks on America's ally for some time now. Recently and before Solemeini's execution Iran bombed an American military base. It has attacked American ships in the strait of Hormuz. It hijacked and took hostage the crew of an american ship. All these things cost money. Money is fungible. Why would you give them money?

The "deal" was that the US lifted sanctions, gave the Iranian regime $150bn, and the Iranians 'promised' to stop developing nukes although there was no provision whatsoever in the agreement for the US to verify any aspect of the Iranian side of the deal.

That's not a deal to anyone except the Iranians.

Turned out that the international inspectors generally agreed that Saddam wasn't rebuilding his WMD programme in 2003 and that it was the pro-war US administration who completely lied about it. I expect the same thing to happen with Iran, that they were generally co-operative with the agreement and that a trifecta of the Trump Regime, the Saudis, and Israel are the ones lying their faces off. Not that it'll matter soon. Just because everyone took a short breath after the airliner was shot down doesn't mean the trail of gunpowder leading to a pile of kegs of dynamite isn't still merrily sparking away until the inevitable happens.
