The Russians were certainly sore losers these games. I wonder if they'll try and cheat in Sochi... :P

Sounds like there could be some dead bodies turning up.

In Soviet Russia, medals drive you!

Oh my. More important than Medvedev being upset at the sports officials is his invoking of the Soviet Union as a model for success. Seeing a number of Soviet-era icons in last night's closing ceremony was pretty disturbing and now we see this. I would not be surprised if some of the athletic folks end up receiving threats or worse from their government based on the language being used here. I'm wondering if we're seeing Russia heading back to the bad old days.

Sounds to me like this is the key reason Russia didn't do well this time around;

$1:
Doping bans had also deprived Russia of several leading medal contenders, he said.

Learn to play fair and you might do better next time...

Rules don't apply to Russia, don't you know that? They've got the biggest, most in-depth anti-missile shield in the world around Moscow but if anyone else wants to have the same thing the Russians get all ticked off about it. :evil:

I say we just take a pass on the Russian games in 4 years. "Thanks for the invite, Ivan, but we're still paying for the Vancouver games, so I think we'll just schedule a Canada-US hockey game here in North America and save the dough. Good luck, though, we hope you get as many bogus medal wins as you did back in 1980."
