Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: I wonder if this will put a end to the rumors about her running for president. That what I was thinking. Normally a move like this would be a pretty clear indication that she's not bucking for the top job. On the other hand, wiht Sarah Palin you just never know!

Commentary I read is that both she and Huckabee are using Fox as a platform to keep their presidential hopes alive. As long as she's careful and doesn't say anything that won't play to the larger electorate when the time comes. But as we've seen, Americans are pretty tolerant of rightwing nutbars. Not like us classy Canadians.

Well, the orthodox belief was that you didn't get down into the mud pit (i.e. the television media) and start slinging it out because (a) the more you talk off the cuff, the more likely you are top say something that is going to come abck and haunt you and (b) a president is supposed to be, to some extent, "above the fray." But these are old ideals and America is going through a time of great change right now. The media, for example, are more powerful than they've been in the past, as evideenced by the fact that many debates these days are framed from the perspective of FOX News versus CNN/MSNBC, as opposed to Republican versus Democrat.

andyt andyt: Gotta hand it to her. She may be a moron, but she's pretty clever. She got what, 7 mil advance for her book, probably a hefty paycheck at Fox and she stays in the limelight for 2012. Amazing what you can accomplish when you have no shame. Exactly what I was thinking.

Yes she is clever and has arranged a sweet deal for herself. She looks cute until she she opens her mouth. As sick as it seems she may have a future in the American political system. If you are cute you can get away with beng an idiot.

Well, as the saying goes, in a democracy, people get the leaders they deserve. And Harper ain't cute, but him and Sarah probably see eye to eye on a lot of issues, including our medical system. Religion, too.

Can you imagine Sara Palin dealing with Kim Jung Il?

Ideologically, she's not that different from Steven Harper. Both think Canada is a socialist country, both think our medical system should be reformed to be like the US. We just havn't embraced loudmouths the way the US has. Yet, anyway.
Actually, Sarah might be very effective in dealing with KJI. Takes a nutbar to communicate with a nutbar. Since he's supposed to be quite the ladies manm she might just wrap him around her little finger.

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog: Wanna see a video sample of what she'll be doing on Fox? http://hotair.com/archives/2010/01/12/p ... ts-a-liar/Looks to me like she'll do just fine. She does a full hour with Glenn Beck today. Wow, did I ever peg that one.

Wow another liberal hack Do you even bother looking for evidence to support your claims, or do fantasies make up most of your daily semi-cognitive thought?

I thought she handled herself quite well, and O'Reilly wasn't just lobbing her soft balls like what you'd see in an MSNBC interview of Obama. He presented critique from the progressives, and asked her to address it.

If there is any place that would give her work, it's fox. She'll fit right in.

Or that he headed the NCC but didn't believe in it's principles? Man, people will twist any which way to make themselves right. Ahkenaten had Herpes attending a fundie church, but not being one himself, you've got him leading the NCC but not believing in it. Maybe you're both good buddies with him, and he tells you this stuff over beers, but I've just got to go by his actions.
