dino_bobba_renno dino_bobba_renno: ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: Most of the dumbasses that come up with this ridiculous shit are white, self labelled 'progressives'. I don't know who they are talking to, that are supposedly offended by our cultural celebrations/holidays/traditions, and are feeling excluded....except for them, and I think the root of their exclusion issues goes back to their time in primary school and not being picked for teams during recess Agreed, I don't think it's other religious groups so much as it is the atheist crowd out there that for some reason feel they're being pressured to conform to some sort of hidden religious agenda. They are mostly white, progressive, "everyone must be equal" types. Funny though, they don't complain about having the days off work for these holidays. Whoa, don't bring Atheists into this, I think this is stupid too.

It's funny we always seem to play the blame game on an entire group (race, religion, sexual preference, whatever), while it is always a few individuals that most of the people of said group do not want to be associated with. But hey, where's the fun in calling it what it is?

But hey, where's the fun in calling it what it is? That's instinkt. People always find reasons for being together and making their separate social group. Why we can't find friends where one is Prime minister and another one is homeless? Because they are from different social groups. It's impossible for Prime minister to become homeless only because he want, man will lose everything. How hard is for homeless to become Prime minister, - that's impossible. So sometimes people are making social groups by blaming and hating. One hates gays, another one, third - they congregate and make their own group, the kind of equally. Because it's much easier to hate and blame than "become a prime minister" .

martin14 martin14: Bye bye Easter.
No, this bullshit wont stop until all the PC leftoids are put down.
Everyone else is too afraid to say anything, cuz then you get called a RACIST. Take it from a PC leftoid himself, even I think this is stupid. But on the other hand, just what do Easter Eggs have to do with Easter anyway?

xerxes xerxes: But on the other hand, just what do Easter Eggs have to do with Easter anyway? They are a symbol of fertility of the Goddess Oestre. Easter has nothing to do with Christianity, in name or those sorts of rituals. The Christians just took over the holiday, as they did with Saturnalia becoming Christmas. At least in the latter case they renamed the holiday. They should do so with Easter too - change it to Bad Friday and Good Sunday or something. And any true Christian believer would have nothing to to with Easter eggs, no matter what they're called, since they're a Pagan rite.

Doesn't matter where the beliefs/traditions came from, most christians are aware of the storied past of their religion thanks to the likes of Dan Brown and various other authors/sources ect.
Fact is it's become increasingly rediculous and redundant that traditions while stolen/borrowed still are rooted in 100's of years of practice and acceptance are no longer valid due to encroching from outside sources.
We don't tell others not to celebrate their holidays, I'm not muslim but still have to work around Ramadan as some of my workers are, I'm not Hindu or Seikh but still have to work around their celebrations, and I in no way tell them they have to change the names of their religious traditions becaus I don't celebrat their faith.

Gunnair Gunnair: Watching Christians get their nuts in a wrap over an adopted pagan tradition.
That's funny. Well I am a athiest and my "nuts" are in a wrap as you put it over this issue. Being politically correct is at times fine. However the PC people of today do not know when enough is enough and go overboard and still do not know when to stop. You can't be overly Christian without upsetting other religions, you can't be proud to be white(as in with history, culture, etc not the colour of your skin), you can't do anything or be proud of anything that use to be the basis of this country and the west. Failure in doing this will get you publicly attacked by the horde of political correctness. What should have been done was to deny the person to give out easter eggs in the school because not every kid might be Christian. However allowing it but covering up the name of it like Christian tradition is a bad thing is rather ridiculous. Like everybody asking people including buisness's to tell people "Happy Holidays" on Christmas. On Christmas I'll tell everybody Merry Christmas, on Kwanza I'll tell everybody Merry Kwanza. I don't give a shit if some people are offended by it because they aren't that given religion, the fact would be that day is the official holiday if that said religion and to edit the names of it and basis of it to appeal to other religious people's sensativity is a big joke and insult. Which is what I mostly hate about Political correctness.

$1: you can't be proud to be white(as in with history, culture, etc not the colour of your skin), Even when it comes to the colour of your skin, you can't say you are proud to be white, while it is totally accepted when a black person says they are proud to be black. It's funny how that works...

Meh it's one of those things that no one will really pay attention to, the officials may call them Spring Spheres, everyone else with an ounce of commonsense will call them easter eggs. Btw this is old news

That's funny. Considering it's non Christians that want to change the name it seems Atheists are getting thier nuts in a wrap.

Tricks Tricks: Whoa, don't bring Atheists into this, I think this is stupid too. What I was trying to get at there was that everyone seems to jump to the conclusion that it's another religious group (i.e. Muslims, Sikh, Jewish) who are the ones who are complaining when in fact it's not. It's normally one or two people with nothing better to do than to raise hell over a nothing issue. I probably shouldn't have used the term atheist though, what I meant was that those who are doing the are not doing so on behalf on a religious group they represent or because they hold an opposing religious view.

It's just the white, over educated wankers that think they know best and impose an nanny-state on us all just in case some none white-anglo-saxon type takes offence at North American, Christian based culture.
Nothing new and it's like they are trying to get really silly. I'm glad my kids go to Catholic school where this stupidity is absent.
