IMO-the girl chose to change in the school parking lot! If the shorts she was wearing were indeed 'micro mini', then why didn't she just slip her longer shorts over top, go into the school washroom, then do the 'change around' in privacy, rather than creating an issue?

Teenagers, especially teenage girls, tend to be a little over the top in the drama department. What's not to say she didn't have a hissy fit, when told she wouldn't be allowed to wear her short shorts, and decided to create a scene. I doubt the teachers forced her to strip into her skivvies in the parking lot. There is more to this story than we know.

Glad to see that there are still girls who dress like sluts in school.

You're not coming in the school dressed like that, it doesn't respect the dress code. Go home, change and come back.

Shifting gears: Always interesting to note which members of this site will most often jump out to defend established authority figures and who blame the accuser and question their credibility in the absence of any evidence. Why is it easier for you to assume that "there must be more to the story" when there is nothing in the story to suggest that this is the case?

Not trying to start a flame war, but I have also noticed that most of these people are also very reluctant to belive that there is no god, that western countries ever bully and exploit third world countries and/or that we live in a society where the advantaged bully and exploit the disadvantaged and destroy the planet.

I have a hunch that just the concept of living in a society where authority figures and institutions (like teachers, police, and captains of industry) can be malevolent or incompetent beyond the odd isolated "bad apple" makes some people feel very insecure and lost in a world of chaos; I think these people are more likely to justify and defend authorities to prove that our society is basically orderly and fair for their own peace of mind. A spin on this is that perhaps we're so indoctirnated as children to have such unquestioning respect for our country's institutions, values and established authority that some people think that to believe otherwise would basically mean that everything they were taught was a lie and the world could be heading to hell in a handbasket, which they find a very emotionally unsettling concept.

What do you think (beyond the obvious name-calling that I'm likely inviting)?

Well put. Research actually backs up what you say.

Just to put me on the side of those insecure people tho, I think her excuse is a bit thin. Micro shorts or knee length shorts aren't going to make such a huge diff on a hot bus, it's not as if they're making her wear pantyhose or something. She just wanted to look hot on the trip to school. She's trying to push the envelope by suggesting she be allowed to arrive in her micro shorts and then be allowed to change at school. I can see that getting out of hand pretty quickly. So if the school has rules about dress, I guess you've got to abide by them.

But the school people suggesting she change in between two cars is pretty stupid on their part.
