Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: Here's just a couple of it's great successes. Ghost Busters, Oceans Eight, Valid. But, again. $1: So a movie that consists of a different director, producers, writers, source material, actors, music, cinematography, editing, production company, and distributor is the reason this movie will be bad? $1: The New Karate Kid, ...The one from 2010? Or the one from 1994? Cause the one from 2010 is a male, and the one from 1994... well that was 25 years ago. It also didn't fail because of Swank's performance, which was praised. It failed because it was an unnecessary sequel. It would have tanked if it had been a new male kid too. $1: American Psycho II, Had nothing to do with the lead being female. The first one did so well they took an unrelated script and tried to shoe horn it to be a sequel. Mila Kunis didn't even know it was going to be a sequel when she shot it, they edited to try and be a sequel. Poor example. $1: Overboard. Also not because of a female lead. It's because they tried to do a remake of an already not great film, that no one wanted so no one saw. Really, most of these didn't fail because of female leads, they failed because of shit writing or just generally being a movie people don't want, regardless of who leads it.

bootlegga bootlegga: Who is Lashana Lynch?
If you want to change things up for 007, at least use an A-lister, not some virtual unknown. You mean like Connery? Who was virtually unknown before Bond? Also, even Daniel Craig was protested when he was selected, because he had blonde hair.Get over it people.

You know that nobody's forcing you to go see their shit, right. EDIT: By you, I mean everybody here that's complaining about it even though the movie isn't out yet.

Tricks Tricks: Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: Here's just a couple of it's great successes. Ghost Busters, Oceans Eight, Valid. More recently the new Men in Black 4 with the woman as the Will Smith character bombed. Also Dark Phoenix. In fact, some are saying this one may have killed the X Men franchise. The New Shaft bombed major. Terminator fans are squinting their eyes and crossing fingers hoping this one doesn't kill their franchise. Sarah Connors is back so that's good but it sounds like she's taking a back seat to some Latino chick and a tranny looking terminator. Crazy things are happening in the Marvel comic verse and one might worry they will filter into the movieverse - Black Captain America, Woman Thor and teen black girl in an Iron Man suit. I won't go see the 007 as a black woman movie in the theatre but I'll do what I did with Captain Marvel. I'll put it on hold for when it comes out in the library. Captain Marvel didn't suck but she's no saviour of the Marvelverse. I expect something similar from black, 007 woman. In fact isn't the actress who's going to be OO7 the one who played Carol Danvers buddy in the Captain Meh flick - the pilot?

The problem isn't that we won't watch this movie, the problem is that they're ruining a franchise that we did watch and enjoy for the sake of political correctness.

Really, most of these didn't fail because of female leads, they failed because of shit writing or just generally being a movie people don't want, regardless of who leads it. Nope, most of these latest remake films failed because after decades of "the casting couch" mentality and failing to treat women the same as men when it came to age, roles and pay they've been called out and are now trying to save their hairy fat supposedly liberal white asses by sacrificing popular franchises and movies on the alter of political correctness. If you think about it, all movies like this do is show that the Hollywood elite have become so fearful of the social justice movements that they are quite happy to have women play some recycled male part that is almost always destined to fail rather than give them their own platform which would require a decent script, good direction and commitment all things that appear to be being saved for the big blockbuster movies wich always seem to have a male lead unless of course it's star is named Merrill Streep. Shit writing is all over Hollywood these days and it hasn't stopped people like Michael Bey from making huge hits. But since you claim that's it's the writing how about you show me your list of movies where women have replaced the men who previously played the lead and then have gone on to enjoy huge success in the role?

Is somebody telling us to shut up about how woketards are ruining our favorite franchises? Very well. Can't speak for anybody else but nothing gets me going like being told to shut up. and just to make the more general point clear:

Remakes and more remakes. That's one of the reasons I don't go to the theater that much. Almost every movie that is praised is a freaking remake. Some new stuff out there yes and it's so so. I don't see the new Bond movie as a remake it's just a continuation of a very long series that really hasn't had to go and remake past movies.
Comics to movies has been generally good, some flops but over all it had a very good run. We need a break though. Could wait a good 5 to 10 years before another X-Men or Avengers type movie comes out.

The only move that I "might" go see when it comes out is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
