The fact of the matter is:Trump DID win the election. Who did or did not vote for him, or who did not vote at all is irrelevant. We have rules set up for elections, just like we have rules set up for sporting events. When someone follows the rules and they win, than its game over. They WON!!! All the bitching and whining in the world will not change that. I'm pissed that my Patriots lost to the Seahawks the other night. You don't see me going around destroying other peoples property, and disrupting traffic just because my team lost. They lost. I put on my big boy pants and deal with it, the same way I did when President Obama won two elections. He was not my candidate, but he won fair and square. There was nothing to protest about. If the Patriots want to win their next game they need to buckle down and work harder. Me holding signs bitching about the other team is not going to help them at all, any more than me holding signs bitching about President Obama was going to help the GOP win an election.
Whats more pathetic than someone protesting losing a fair fight? No one likes a sore loser. Protest injustice. Protest getting screwed over unjustly. Protest the big guy throwing out the rule book to step on the little man. You want to protest those things, than count me in. I can get on board for that. Why aren't these protesters at the DNC? Bernie was screwed over by the powers that be. Where were all these freaks when an honest man was getting the shaft by the DNC? Why weren't they shutting down that convention if they were so concerned with injustice? Mr. Trump won his convention fair and square. The Republican party was not pulling strings and cutting back room deals to move Mr. Trump to the head of the pack. On the contrary, the Republican party did not want him to win. The hierarchy of the party was speaking out against him, and he still won. He won the nomination and he won the election, fair and square. Time to stop whining when there is no injustice. Suck it up and deal with the fact that your side lost. The Cleveland Indians lost the world series. I don't see a bunch of punks destroying property, and shutting down highways in Cleveland.
I think it more like this: A bunch of people despise the NFL. Fucking hate it. All the teams available are cheaters and sleezeballs, making bank and ruining the lives of everyone around them. Most people only support a team because they feel they need to, especially due to the urgent begging of the teams to stop the menace of the other team. But a large amount of people just refuse, absolutely refuse, because they are disgusted by it and feel participating it won't make it better, it'll just legitimize it. Then one year comes along, and the two championship teams are just fucking awful. We'll call them the Scumbags and the Blowhards. Lots of people depend on them, they are the linchpins of the economy for their cities and the results have repercussions as the winning team gets massive control over how the NFL will function, and more, as they have considerable sway outside of just their organization. One side of the championship game is a team that is exactly like the championships of the past, filled with scandal and fraud, representing the status quo, the Scumbags. And the other are a pack of brutish bullies and grumps who promise to attack and subjugate those who aren't fans of their team, and saying they'll ban hockey and hockey fans, the Blowhards. The championship game happens and it's close, but the Blowhards win, fair and square. The Scumbags fans protest, as they're thoroughly disgusted by the promises of the Blowhards and their plans for the NFL. They do stupid shit like "Not my champions" and wear safety pins and do sit ins on some football fields where it doesn't matter. But more than that, those who were generally disgusted by the NFL and had refused to support a team get vocal and participate in the protests, and even take lead in many cases, because they're hockey fans, or disgusted by the antics, or what the hell ever, and they stir shit hard, vandalize stadiums, denounce the NFL, and start actively converting Scumbags fans into full opposition to the NFL. To them, the Blowhards exemplify in full clarity exactly what is wrong with the NFL. The Scumbags were gross, and themselves are enough to show what a travesty the NFL had become, but the Blowhards were a new horrifying freakshow that actively and proudly vowed to threaten them.
And all the Blowhards fans have to say in response is "You aren't even fans of anything! Why didn't you support the Scumbags when you had a chance? It was a fair game!". They even get some Scumbags fans involved, suggesting we all come together and try to make the NFL better by remaining fans of the Scumbags and Blowhards, or maybe some other plunky team, like the Shitskulls or Fuckwits. Anything but challenging the NFL itself for what it had become, for what it allowed, for what it was doing to the unwitting fans.
That feels like a more accurate comparison to me. It's more than sore losers out there. It's people who've hated this shitshow under Clinton, Bush, and Obama. But now they're a little easier to hear, because thankfully the useless liberals are giving us a platform that hasn't been seen since Bush, after willfully ignoring the warmongering and genocidal practices of Obama because fucking Democrats are spineless as hell and once they get their concessions they'll betray every ally they ever had for the sweet sweet taste of comfort.
As for Bernie, how could you guys all forget what happened at the DNC? No one was arrested but hundreds were fined. Traffic was blocked. Tensions were high and the police handled it pretty damn carefully (to their credit). You remember the hours of booing inside the convention? Bernie begging his delegates to settle down as the DNC ran around like beheaded chickens in panic, releasing apologies and doing everything they could to stave off
a full blown riot on the convention floor? Their signs confiscated and replaced with those ridiculous "love trumps hate" signs? Threats to be silent or have their credentials revoked? Remember how none of that did jack all until Bernie spoke? That's the only thing that soothed the beast that night. After Bernie they clamped down hard for when Hillary came out. There was hardly anything during Clinton's moment because the Bernie supporters willing to raise hell flushed themselves out already and were removed. You know what the Clinton supporters were saying? "Fair and square! Fair and square! Clinton won fair and square!" As if that was the only depth in the Bernie supporters argument, rather than that they were extremely disgusted by Clinton in principle and were energized to voice that. Bernie supporters weren't just pissed they lost the primaries, they were pissed Hillary was the winner and were reluctant to tolerate the implications of her nomination.
As for "my side lost", my side lost whether Clinton or Trump won.
Well I guess we are just going to have to agree to disagree than. You are young. You have time on your side. You want to right all the wrongs in the world. I get it. I was young once. Now I am old. I have learned that you have to fight the battles you can win in life, the battles that really matter. Prioritize if you will. Fight the good fight, and don't sweat the small shit. If you spend all your time looking for a fight, you will miss out on a lot of life. There is a lot of good in life too. I've been all around the world. Ive met a lot of jerkoffs, and I've met a lot of good people as well. The good people outnumber the jerkoffs by a hundred to one, easily. Thats everywhere that I have been, places that were not supposed to like me because of where I came from. You want to change the world, I get it. We all do. My advise is to stop and actually see and experience some of that world as you pass through it. See and experience some of the good things it has to offer. Its not all bad. There is a lot of good as well. Being perpetually pissed off is no way to go through life. There will always be a new battle to fight. It never ends. There will always be a new shit stirrer on the scene fucking things up, thats human nature. After you are long gone, someone else will be fighting your battles. I'm not saying to quit fighting, I'm saying make that a part time job and let enjoying life become your full time job.I do not personally know you, but from your posts on here you do not seem happy to me. Most of your posts are bad news. Family problems, money problems, etc. Some of us old fucks like to live vicariously through the youth. We would like to see some stories about success. Some stories about college graduations, weddings, job promotions, business startups, honeymoons, military promotions, exotic vacations, lottery winnings, etc. You get the point? A little good news now and then is not such a bad thing. A rising tide lifts all boats. You are young. You are healthy. You live in a great country with infinite possibilities. Millions of people around the world would kill for what you have. Don't waste it trying to solve every imperfection in life.
