Crime and punishment is one area I tend to find myself completely in line with the Conservative party.

Another move I completely agree with and expected out of the Cons a long time ago.

I can understand the reasoning, but we should not forget that law and emotions do not go well together...

How long does it take to fulfill the platform promised before an election? This only seems to come out when talk of an election is in the air. Especially when they might actually lose power.

There's going to be no election.

BTW for a minority government they've gotten alot done, despite having to deal with the three stooges.

There may not be one, but they're all sure talking about one.

I expected a lot more in a lot shorter timeframe.

Vote for them next time around whenever that is, and you'll see alot get done. But I have a feeling you'll never vote for them no matter what.

Without a major purge within the party, no, I won't vote for them again, although I don't have anyone else that I'm inclined to vote for at this point either.

I may simply park my vote this time around.

Another distraction, it sounds like a good policy, I only see it really affecting serious cases like major assaults, murders and sexual assaults since most property offences rarely have a long term impact on the victims. I doubt anyone is going to show up to a parole hearing to say, that asshole stole my car and I'm still taking the bus.

However, like Clinton said:"It's the economy stupid."

We can all get partisan about it if we choose, its a distraction, an election ploy, they should of done it long ago etc.

But the fact of the matter remains its about a bill that would allow you for example to attend parole hearings lets say if some kook killed and raped a family member of yours. I'd say despite the rehtoric it's something good and its sad to see people are tyring to shit all over it for political reasons.

Harper for sure, and some of the more radical "old Reform" members.
