Macguyver Macguyver: Gunnair Gunnair: Please... play the forum cop when you get mod status.
Just hoping you could be a little more respectful. I may dislike your point of view but its very doubtful that you will ever catch me calling anyone names on here except maybe in jest. I am respectful to those that: a) I respect. b) are respectful. 'b' being more important.

Macguyver Macguyver: Gunnair Gunnair: Please, if you're going to cite yourself as a resource of experience, then by all means, start listing your credentials.
I hope it's more than "I talked to my husband about it"... Sorry that is classified Seriously though it's classified. ![Moon [but]](./images/smilies/bootie.gif) That's convenient and predictable. Sorry, you're boast falls flat then.

Brenda Brenda: andyt andyt: You're going to hate me for this, but sounds like another ESL problem here. It's not her telling hubby. It's the MP telling her secrets, trying to impress her. That's how the Gerda Munsinger affair went down (if indeed she was a spy) Begrijpen? Do you have proof of that, that he told her secrets? (I must say I misread. Which has nothing to do with ESL, but more with reading too fast. I read that you meant the husband might be blabbing) No proof, no claim on my part that he did. But this happens all the time - guy/woman who wants to be important blabs secrets to someone. Sometimes that someone isn't even a spy. Brenda Brenda: andyt andyt: Nobody thinks what hubby did is fine. Fortuitous for Canada tho. Before, as Fifeboy pointed out, it possibly went too far. Maybe an argument against her being a spy - surely hubby would know if she was spreading her legs for the greater glory of China. I'm sure, if that were the case, he would have known. Well the spy movies tell us hubby/wife doesn't always know. So who knows.

fifeboy fifeboy: I won't claim to be non-political here as my position on Steve's government is well known. But three points: 1- The stupid flirty e-mails were probably just the beginning and when he got down to serious business with her the blackmail would then start. It's a good thing it came out when it did and is only an embarrassment. 2- It shows that what is needed for any government to F#@k up is time in office, not ideology. 3- If everyone in Canada wasn't so hung up on what people did in the bedroom than stuff like this couldn't be used as a way for foreign governments to gather intelligence. If the answer to "I know what you got up to with him/her" resulted in a collective "who cares!" we would all be b etter off. Sounds to me like a classic honey trap - Canada is just lucky a jealous husband broke it up before this guy had a chance to get blackmailed for something that might have hurt us.

You have a password on your computer, and this account, and your bank account, and a unique key for your car? Why? Because if you ahve something valuable others will try to take it. I find it hart to believe that everyone just likes the Chinese news lady who works for the Chinese news agency controlled by the Chinese government and trusts that person can hang out with one of our MP's and nothing bad is going on.

You realize that the government NEEDS the media, right? "Celebs" complain about tabloids, but they call them themselves when they have something they think is significant. Anywho, are you saying that people cannot have a private life because they have a public one also? Hide in your shelter then and stay off the roads and the internet...

Sorry, you're boast falls flat then. Your opinion have been noted. As has your unsubstantiated claim of expertise in national security, foreign espionage, and human psychology.

Agreed that there is a possibility that this was the motivation, but that's unconfirmed, and that's the point. Partisans have gone off half cocked to hang the guy because he flirted with a Chinese reporter over email - because that must mean he was going to fuck her, then hand over the plans to our new Arctic Offshore Patrol Vessels, the payroll numbers for Toyota Canada, and Christie Blatchford's home phone number.

Fair enough, but name calling is so Grade 4, I just thought that someone with 10,000 and more posts would be more skilled at the art of rhetoric no matter who he is flaming at.
