considering a huge chunk of vehicles in North America are made here in Canada I would agree, the Canadian consumer is getting it up the ringer when buying a new car here.
You pay more because of taxes, import duties (yes cars even made here go to the U.S.A. then get sent back up), and the fact Canada is a smaller market. Also auto workers here have high wages so you get to pay for them.
I think you're talking out your ass dude. I've sent a few letters to automakers and the same response I get back is: the prices are higher because the market will bear it. Some models of trucks have a difference of over 8k between here and the U.S., and these prices are calculated before you even add tax.
