Eisensapper Eisensapper:
Im holding judgement on this but it is not looking good for Israel, if there was fire comming from the compound it is those in charge of the UN compound at fault for allowing themselves to become a target. If the UN workers say there was no outgoing fire from the compound the UN will have to send a peacmaking mission in.

Umm...Hamas has a history of firing from UN compounds and vehicles. They've used UN schools more than once, so why do you think an UN warehouse is somehow off limits to Hamas? :?

If you're wondering what I'm referring to.

Did anyone stop to think that the only way Isreal can get the UN to intervene in this situation and finally do something by sitting on its hands is to become the aggressor?

Not that the UN is of any use.....

The UN has security, when troops arent available they hire private security(insert Hamas members here...)

Do you have any proof, because if you do I will remove any kind of respect I have for the UN.

I have no proof, but they did that same thing in the congo until they woke up and realized that it became part of the problem instead of the solution

Are you kidding ?

only security is Hamas security.
700 people, all inspected for weapons before they entered the compund.. sure

Do you guys ever hear interviews with John Ging, the head UN
in Gaza ? He is the best spokesman that Hamas has.

The UN has a great hard on for Israel now, its no wonder
Israel is giving them the finger today.

Sec Gen -- I have always condemned the rocket attacks from Gaza..
Livni -- and what did you actually do about it ?? .. nothing

Like I said it sounds horrible but I need to see proof that Hamas was the one providing security.

With all that technology how do they "accidently" shell the UN?

------------------------------------------

How do you acidentally allow militants into a UN compound so they can shoot at the Isrealis?

I have proof that they hired a teacher who is a terrorist, but I do not know their security arrangements. Give me a second

http://www.reuters.com/article/middleea ... SL05686115

Now, if they could of "missed" on this, what kind of other things did they miss on happening in their own warehouses/offices/schools/etc?

Even if that were true you still don't fire at the UN.

What military school did you go to that says that if you piss the entire world off you might gain some sort of advantage.

How about using the phone and calling the Secretary General and finding out WTF is going on instead of shelling people who are there to help both sides.

Remember Israel exists because of a UN resolution.

"On November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly voted 33 to 13, with 10 abstentions, in favour of a Partition Plan that created the State of Israel."

You are a frigging hypocrite if you think the UN is irrelevant yet support the UN approved creation of a Jewish state.

If militants somehow got into the compound then call the UN and ask them to help deal with it. I thought the Jews were a little more civilized then the Croats and the Serbs. This just proves that they are as bad or worse then all of them and the Palistianians.

Holy crap, all of that from my one sentence?

Dude, I think you are playing out an argument in your head that you had with someone else.

Then you ding my rep points, too. That was a cheapshot!

The thing is, in the last 20 - 30 years the UN has become irrelevant. For its first 20 - 25 years of its existence it did mean something.

From what I have read it is reasonable to assume that the Hamas militants were welcomed into the UN compound. From this point on I have no faith in the UN presence in the middle east and feel that it has become suspect elsewhere in the world. To put 700 people in harm’s way when they are trying to look for safety and shelter is unforgivable. Israel needs to smarten the fuck up but Hamas needs to be disbanded and its members expelled from Israeli territory. Then they should be executed, if they are ever to return.

It is the Hamas that need to be vilified not romanticised as they have been of late, they are not defending or avenging anything.
