ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
It`d be interesting to see the financial facts on the reserves that the missing women came from. How many of them came from reserves where the chief and council were embezzling, and most of the rank and file rezidents weren`t seeing the funds, programs and services meant to assist them?

Doesn't matter. Not relevant because RACISM!

What a bunch of dickweeds. Do these asshats seriously think that Native women are the only ones who get murdered or disappear?

Nope. An article calling for an inquiry itself said there are thousands of women missing or killed, and they claimed 850 of them were aboriginal. Govt I think says 500. But no fuss about the non-native women. Or for that matter, how many men are missing or killed?

And what will an inquiry find? That most native women that are killed are killed by native men? That many go missing because they live such unstable lives? They lose touch with their families, often because the families are such horror shows.

But we fall for this crap as Canadians, white guilt and all. And the govt likes to play along because they think buying off the natives is cheaper than finally making some sort of settlement and that's it, no more. Not in the long run.

What gives them the right to do this? No other group could get away with any kind of blockade.

Yes, because it's the only group of people that matter to them.

What they fail to realise, because they are so focused on their own people, is that missing Natives make up a small portion of missing Canadians in general.

Our politicians and police are spineless. Even when we've had judges with some smalls to order that the police dissemble the protest, the police (on the administration's hesitance) are to scared to take real action.

The extreme elements of the Native community hold us hostage as a country. Just wait for the fireworks if they actually try to build a pipeline (either Gateway or Kinder Morgan twinning) here in BC.

It will be an Indian Summer to remember, full of blockades, war paint and chaos.

That got a bunch of OPP officers in trouble for suggesting that, and as a result they all had their nuts removed when it came to dealing with native criminals and terrorists

Did anybody else click the link within the article to find out what this was actually about?

Apparently this blond "Indian"...

Image

was "studying at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, working on her thesis about missing and murdered indigenous women when she disappeared. Her body was later found alongside a New Brunswick Highway. A man and a woman are facing first-degree murder charges in her death."

http://www.cbc.ca/news/aboriginal/press ... -1.2559979

That appears to have allowed this blond "Indian" to spark things up.

Image

Looks like he stirred the pot, and his rap sheet says he knows how to do it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Brant

I think we need a special reserve for all these blond Indians. Then we can deal with their tribe directly.

True, not PC these days and perhaps rightly so.

It always amazes me that protesters have this notion that by disrupting the day-to-day lives of others they'll gain more support for their cause, whatever that might be.

It seems that though they do get attention, it's negative attention, and it usually annoys people too much for them to care about what the cause is.

Time for the OPP to grow a pair and start acting like police. I've travelled that rail corridor requently, and would not be so forgiving if it was my train that was blocked, and I had to use a bus instead.
