She's got no leg to stand on. Just get a bumper sticker. Guess she has more time and money than sense. Or is a front for some idiotic atheist organization - they really need to pick their battles.

I agree, BFD.

English has a wonderful plasticity about it. It is a Jazz language. If something new comes along, English speakers invent a word or expression for it very quickly and creatively. There is no "Academy Anglais" telling us what is proper English. The experts listen to us and how we use the language to continuously re-define it. There is a marvellous democracy about English.

I hope she wins! Not my personal belief, but if other 'religions' can come up with a 'belief based plate', and order it, she should be able to also.

In BC at least, no belief based, political based or sex based plates would be allowed. So your 8URANUS plate probably wouldn't fly here Yogi. Try RIMJOB and tell them you own a tire store.

Me, I'm going for RVNG.

I don't see why she was refused in the first place or how people could find it offensive ? Would a plate reading CH15T1AN, J3W1SH, MUSL1M or 51KH also be considered offensive ?

And PD how many languages other than English do you know that you find English annoying. Try French, almost every word spelt with a million letters, pronounced with only two from them. Just dump a bunch of a random alphabets around a word take out the ones which actually matter and voila instant French.

They certainly wouldn't be allowed here.

Of the Western European languages, English is certainly the hardest to go from speaking to spelling. In French you actually know what letters are not pronounced.

Personalized Licence Plates
A personalized licence plate (also known as vanity plates) can have up to seven characters, either letters or numbers. Personalized plates can be issued for almost every registration class except Dealer, Antique or Disabled. Alberta Registries reserves the right to reject requests for personalized plates for any reason, which includes ethnic slurs, religious slurs or foul language.

To order a personalized plate, you must visit a registry agent office. Payment for the plate must be made when placing the order. You will be required to provide your driver's licence number. You will also be required to decide where the licence plate should be mailed.

The ordering process will take between six-to-eight weeks. For more details, please see the Personalized Plate Program information sheet (pdf). For fee information, see registry agent's Product Catalogue (pdf).
