sasquatch2 sasquatch2:
More Canadians fought in the US Civil War than fought for Canada in the war of 1812.
Mind you the war of 1812 did not involve really large armies.
In both WW1 and WW2, many, many americans came north and enlisted prior the the US involvement in either war. In WW2, most of these were transferrred back to the US forces, against their will, to provide the US forces with necessary expertise and experience.
The Viet Nam War saw an estimated 20 volunteers going south for every draft dodger fleeing north. Canadian Volunteers are considered very highly prized recruits by the US.
I am not sure what your info here shows except that every country has aggressive young men who will want to go fight in any war they can find. Don't forget the Spanish Civil War. Young men who are confined to farms or other monotonous work will seek adventure.
