$1:
In a fiery campaign-style address to the Liberal caucus in Ottawa on Tuesday, Ignatieff insisted his party was not trying to provoke an election and added he did not know when the next one would occur.

But he said Liberals would not be the "guarantors of the future" of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's minority Conservative government.

"We are here to oppose and replace," he said.

So he really does have a sense of humour.

I wonder if Ignatieff knows that fiery means more than a limp candle.

The Conservatives on the one hand are launching these attack ads and on the other decrying Liberals for trying to force and election. They must think people are retarded not to see through that.

It's worked for them so far so they may be right.

Indeed. They are always in a state of 'get ready' for an election because they are always teetering.

If Iggy would have played a few cards differently he would likely be in a much better position to push the teetering Harper Cons but he does nothing and says nothing for stretches that are too long and too often. That doesn't mean that5 he isn't ready for a fight though...you can be ready even if you aren't going to win.

Meanwhile:

What conservatives voted for, as advertised by the 'face-lifted reform party' campaign platform:

- smaller government
- fiscal responsibility
- transparency
- accountability

What we all got:

- ballooning bureaucracy
- massive deficits
- muzzling of scientists and the press
- unprecedented government secrecy

So...will it be another Conservative minority? Hat trick for the hapless Harper?

When are the Liberals going to figure out that they would have a much better opportunity to win if they got a leader that was more credible,
this Iggy guy just exudes the attitude of a buffoon.

Here we are coming out of the worst world economic downturn since the Great Recession and Ignatieff's jingle for Canadians is " do you feel better than five years ago." He is a buffoon, only the main media won't say it.

Bah, I guess it's Taliban Jack for me in the upcoming election, or in my case, Mrs Chow.

Haven't the liberals been saying the same thing forever? Pretty hard to see at as anything other than grandstanding. If an election does come I'll probably be voting green party again. Really do wish there was a "none of the above" box to check.

I've always wished I had a Rhino in my riding to vote for. I'll probably be voting for the candidate that has the best chance against Reformacon. I want them to continue to be the govt, but not have a majority.

It goes against all my fiscal consevative beliefs, but the cons are too hell bent on pushing ideological changes, rather than fiscal changes.

The crime bill itself is a travesty, I cannot beleive so called conservatives support this pathetic rubbish. Where's the fiscal responsibility in it?

Might as well go NDP, they're not prepared to win, so for the most part, as a voter, I can project.

Hi, everyone, I'm new here, my name is nova72 and I think it is time for an election because you can't have a government that won't follow the rules unless you want a dictatorship govt. Does anyone agree with me?
