What the fuck? Why the hell would anyone run pot across the Juan de Fuca when you could bring back cases of chips and sell them at a massive profit!

BeaverFever BeaverFever:
When I lived in the US, I was shocked that my chip selection was basically limited to Plain, Sour Cream and Onion, Salt and Vinegar (sometimes) and 2 kinds of BBQ.

All Dressed is just the tip of the ice berg. It's basically a mix of Ketchup, Sour Creamn n Onion, and BBQ flavours. We have all these flavours here because a company called Hostess used to make them, before Lays bought them out and then Ruffles got in on some specialty flavours as well. Luckily Lays continued the product line under their own branding but we did loose some good ones. Anybody remember Pizza flavour, and Cheeseburger flavour? I still see Roasted Chicken and Chicken Noodle Soup from time to time.

You should also try Ketchup and the new Spicy Ketchup. Dill Pickle is also a popular one. Presidents choice has also launched a line of "gourmet" flavours like Sweet Chili Thai, Tandoori, Buffalo Wing, Jerked Chicken, etc. After a while they all kinda taste the same though.

For trade, I recommend you offer someone Hershey's Whatchamcalits...never been available here but always a fave when I'm south of the border.

Don't forget the kettle chips... [drool]

I can get some pickle chips around here every once in a while, they're great. Some of those other flavors (sweet maui onion, pizza and Sweet Chili Thai) have come and gone.

My favourite chips were the old Ruffles Sour Cream & Onion chips from 20 years ago. The ones they make today aren't the same. The flavour coating on those old chips was powdery and almost sticky. They must have been absolutely laden with transfats and salt and every other goddamn thing that tastes good and kills you.

When I was going to grad school in Boston, I started jamming with a couple of guys I met. But I was just borrowing one of their guitars. I hadn't brought mine along when I moved down there. My girlfriend was coming down to visit for a week and I asked her to bring my guitar with her. When she arrived, she had the guitar and she brought me a box of Tim Horton's Walnut Cruch (the ones they make today aren't worth a shit anymore either) and a bag of Hostess Sour Cream and Onion chips. That was the day I knew she'd be Mrs. Lemmy.

I like that this comment thread has stayed alive, but the people willing to send me a bag of chips have dwindled away...Anyone interested in helping me out?
