Not bad but World Junior is better. The wife hasn't even tried to book holidays at Christmas because she knows I am either watching live or on TV. This year it will be TV viewing only. :(

YEAH! :rock: 2-1 now for CANADA!

I wasn't sure I had access to TSN2 (I have basic cable only, not the extended hd pkg) but since Shaw forced me to get the digital box... I have it!

Now I'm gonna be flipping back and forth between this and the Canucks game... but World Jrs are more exciting to watch though this is just a pre-competition game.

Great time of year to be a hockey fan! [hockey]

R=UP
The first year after Mrs. Lemmy joined the clan, she LOST it on me over the World Juniors. That was the year we won gold in the Czech Republic. It was kind of a no-name team (didn't turn out a lot of NHLers) that beat Switzerland in the final. All my drunken, single, idiot friends basically moved in for the week and she was Chernobyl-level pissed off. So I explained to her that, while it was my fault for not more clearly expressing the importance of the World Junior Tournament to myself and the boys, it was something of tradition that we were pretty keen on maintaining. I promised her that I would, in the future, make sure we that did a better job of not messin' up the house. I promised that I would tell the boys to be more careful with their aim in the pisser. But I made it pretty clear that WJ hockey was going to be on my TV over the last week of EVERY year and that the boys were gonna be there, so she was going to have to deal it. When the boys got married, their wives started coming over too and Mrs. Lemmy even started to get into the tournament. The boys still come over for nearly every game and now that we've all got wives and kids and it's become a family thing. The whole crew gets together for at least one game every year. We make a HELL of a mess of the house but Mrs. Lemmy doesn't seem to mind so much anymore.

edit for typo

Seeing it live is the best though isn't it?

When Vancouver hosted it in 2006 I had tickets to the whole tournament. Donated a game and sold/gave away a few (to friends) but attended ALL the games Canada played in, plus a couple others and of course the Bronze medal game and was right there on the blue-line almost right beside the Team Canada bench to see the Gold medal game. Un-freaking-real to have been there when we won gold. The absolute best hockey game I've ever been to.

Had the whole package when it was in Winnipeg years ago. Did the same thing, kept all the Canada games for me and gave away non Team Canada games. Unfortunately we didn't win Gold that year. :(
